Went to have a dinner and love the taste (but forgot what we ordered last time) and price so went there again to have a take out. Atmosphere was great, not many tables and now they adjusted to be just a seating area to wait for take out only.
The lady who took our order (probably an older daughter but I'm not sure) welcomed us with kind voice and smile eyes. She was very patient while waiting to take our order and let us know how long is the expected waiting time, which was very precise.
This time I got a curry noodle with prawn, spicy 3 out of 5. I love how they put all containers (paper box for the noodle and veggies and plastic tub for the curry) in a bag with a piece of cardboard at the bottom of the bag. Would even be better if use a paper bag and container for soup/sauce that recyclable/biodegradable.
The curry was thick and sweet, taste great, big! 7-8 shrimps, many variety of veggies bring out lots of great herbs flavors. Spicy level 3 is great for me for this dish as I love spicy food but not very good in having one too spicy. I can separate half for a meal for my smaller dinner and the other half for the next day lunch, which I add a couple scoop of rice to suck up the delicious curry juice at the end.
Would highly recommend this local family business...
Read moreReally loved the natural lighting and cool breeze coming through the open doors on this warm sunny day. Outside, the street was quiet and beautifully planted with cone flower and cascading petunia baskets. The owner was so attentive and made us the most delicious food we've had in a while. The fried duck for my sweetie, and prawn Pho for me. We both enjoyed our dinners + even ordered fresh mango sticky rice. The atmosphere was laid back, but still fun with ping pong and even some impromptu jump rope demos. The space feels very warm and inviting, like there have been many happy memories made there. This place feels like a hidden gem, even though it's clearly well loved by how many reviews they have. We will definitely be back when we...
Read moreTamayo's is one of those hidden gems that really should be more popular than it is. We've been coming here for a couple of years (including when they had a location in Oak Harbor), and I can say there food is some of the best I've had this side of the Sound. I've yet to find a restaurant anywhere that has pho as good as theirs. The broth is so rich and the beef so flavorful - it really warms your soul on these cold and rainy PNW days. Their pad see ew also has a special place in our hearts. We've tried nearly everything on the menu and there hasn't been anything we've disliked. The owner is also very sweet and friendly and makes visiting Tamayo's an enjoyable experience. I would give more than 5...
