Food was just, off. Not inedible, but the salad, teriyaki, and katsu were all just, not the thing usually expected. The salad had light pickled vegetables, but then instead of a complimentary Asian dressing, it was like a Japanese ranch fusion dressing, did not enjoy, zero stars. The teriyaki sauce just tasted, different. Like, they definitely added considerable amount of fish sauce, and they also didn't cook off the alcohol from the mirin completely. Additionally teriyaki should not have any fish sauce. It ended up tasting like a mix between a teriyaki sauce and pad se ew base. Also the white rice was weirdly oily. The chicken katsu did not come with traditional katsu sauce, the options were curry or teriyaki. The curry "sauce" was like curry vegetable soup, literally chunks of vegetable swimming in a loose liquid. The curry "sauce" did not have a strong taste, which is fundamentally the essence of curry: a mingling of aromatics and spices to create a strong favor. If we had been told that sauce was egg drop soup we would have believed it. The chicken was also cooked poorly, the breast was over dry and the breading soggy with oil. The chicken spring rolls were pretty tasty, but it was unclear ordering from the website that an order was a single spring roll, not even cut in half, so to share it as appetizers among a group we had to cut it ourselves and got less spring roll than any of us anticipated. The peanut sauce, however, was delicious. In the end we ate everything, because it wasn't fundamentally inedible, but we will not be returning. I can make a better teriyaki sauce than that, and I can fry better chicken breasts than that. My partners comment is that if you don't really know what any of those foods are supposed to taste like, and if you can't tell the difference between Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese food you might like it fine, but otherwise you may find it...
Read moreI was not expecting the food here to be as bad as it was. The restaurant itself is super cute. They have a great location and it’s clean. When my boyfriend and I came in we sat down and we were brought 2 empty cups. The server said she would be back with the water shortly. She came back less than 5 minutes and gave us a big glass bottle of room temperature water. We decided to order sodas and they were flat, we tried two different ones and they were both no a lot of options. We ordered pot stickers, house fried rice and Hong Kong Beef with a large side of white rice. The pot stickers (appetizer) came to the table at the same time as our food. The pot stickers were fried, we were expecting steamed since the menu didn’t say anything about it being fried and not good at all. The house fried rice was over cooked and lacked flavor. The Hong Kong Beef was not good at all. Whatever sauce was used was not a good mix.
The service was not the greatest either. I feel the servers are inexperienced. We had to ask for utensils, napkins, sauces etc. The restaurant is also small so anything being said is heard (I’ll leave it at that).
Positives: the restaurant is cute. It’s clean. The bathroom was clean as well. The white rice was good. I think this place has potential but they need to go back to the flavor board on food and retrain...
Read moreI LOVE coffee. I noticed when I would order a 16oz coffee they were NOT giving me 16oz, I was getting a cup full of ice, literally FULL…the coffee didn’t even cover the ice. So, naturally because I’m paying for coffee, 16oz of it, NOT ICE, I ordered with no ice. They wanted to charge me for the larger size. Ok, I’m not doing that, that’s theft. Literally stealing from me. So I ordered it with light ice. They STILL DIDN’T FILL THE CUP AND CHARGED ME FOR A LARGER SIZE ANYWAYS!! Photo of still not 16oz of coffee charged as 20oz for illustrative purposes. I wish I had noticed they were stealing my money before I left. I live extremely close and go daily, so do all my coworkers. Never again. They can find new people to steal from instead of us. Don’t mess with peoples coffee…this is the puget sound. We will come...
