Before I begin, know that I am not a Juice Bar type of person meaning that I give my review from the average consumer's perspective. My son received a gift card so I thought I would check it out. First off, the music was so freaking loud that I asked them to turn it down. I got a loud "What?!" in reply to my request. I love me some irony. Now, I like to sing and have a good time at my job but dude, I don't want to hear you competing with the music that is already too loud. My son wanted a chocolate peanut butter something. Closest I could get was a peanut butter, banana and... spinach. Spinach. Ok, cut out the spinach then. I am of the medical opinion that males should not consume soy. I would have asked to have them make it with milk or just water but at that point I had judged that they would not have milk and that water would have made for a bad drink. It didn't matter either way. The drink was undrinkable. My trooper of a son commented that "It tastes just like a regular smoothie." Sweet boy, no, it does not. So excited to get his smoothie that he did not want to disappoint himself. He drank maybe one ounce total. If you are into this sort of place, then I can see its appeal. While I wasn't expecting Smoothie King and am actually not of fan of SK, i would have been happier making my own at home or heading to 9...
Read moreJust a warning that if you are a frequent purchaser of the açaí bowls - they are in new containers that are smaller. When I inquired if this was the new size going forward, I was told that the new containers are the same size as the old ones. I usually stop by and pick up açaí bowls for the kids and me one to two times a week so we have several of the old containers at home. I poured my açaí bowl from the new container into the old one and it is not the same amount. I think if they filled up the new container to the top like they usually do, then you will receive the same qty. As I mentioned above, I frequent this place often and I have never seen this gentleman that I spoke to. The service was slower too so maybe they are under new...
Read moreI ordered a small cocoa banana smoothie online. It was $6 for 16oz. The staff were friendly during my brief interaction with them and the establishment was clean and well decorated. The customer base seemed to be upper middle class and predominantly white.
The smoothie I got was disgusting. I went into this knowing it had no added sugar and I was NOT expecting something sweet (like you get at Smoothie King). But it was horribly bitter and the texture was revolting. It left an awful medicinal/metallic aftertaste similar to ambien. I drank 4 oz before throwing it away due to how nauseous it made me. Perhaps their other smoothies/juices are better than this but based on the cost alone I will not...
