Staying here was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, with twenty years of international travel experience included in that. We came to attend a graduation a few months ago, was awoken at 3 AM for a fire alarm, so we all evacuated - very fair, glad the system is working, but the sprinklers went off and SOAKED the entire right wing of the second floor. Did they move people to other rooms? Or compensate for the damage? No, they did not do either of those things. Instead, they rented industrial fans the next day and ran them day and night, refusing, again, to compensate or move anyone. We asked for the fans to at least get cut at night, since they were incredibly loud and we couldn't sleep, to which they replied - absolutely not, that would worsen the water damage. At some point I'd had enough, went to ask to move or compensate us (again), to which the staff at the front desk replied with some choice expletives that really let me know how he felt about my stay. I cannot recommend this place any less - there are plenty of other accommodations in the area that are comparable in cost and hopefully staffed by far kinder and more understanding people.
Update: After reading some of the other reviews, I just wanted to go ahead and clarify - the staff will refer you repeatedly to a manager who never shows up and doesn't answer his phone... Or any messages... Called during business hours, checked by the desk during business hours, and never saw this manager. Again, could not recommend less.
Reply to the owner: This occurred in May 2023 - I am confident this occurred at your facility, I've got the bill and recognize the facade where I stood outside as the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. If you look at reviews from that time period, you'll see others that reported the same experience. The time to rectify the situation was months ago, I just wanted to let others know about...
Read moreAll of the staff were very polite. I have absolutely no problem with anyone that worked there. They were professional, caring, and kind. Can't ask for more from your staff. However, the breakfast hours were very short for a place that's supposed to be for a more long term stay. I think it was 6-9. When I'm at a long-term stay hotel they should cater to people later. The hotel I worked at was 6am to 10am which covers early and late risers. I just found the 2 hour limit stifling within the constraints of my visit. I honestly haven't stayed at many Homewood suites so I can't really compare the evening reception. It was kind of nice to know I could go grab something but what they offered was very limited. However the potato and broccoli soup was pretty good. The rest was basically various chips and dip. It didn't live up to what they claim. I'm not saying it was awful. The dip was decent (if you like spinach dip) but that was pretty much it besides the pretzel/Chex mix stuff they made. Again, not saying it was awful I just truly expected more based on the website claiming that these hotels cater to families and/or long term people. I was there for my husband's surgery and he had to be in the hospital for several days. Late nights at the hospital are not very conducive to getting up at 7am to run and get breakfast you're not hungry for yet but if you don't you'll get nothing. After day 1 I just got fast food on the way. It was way less of an issue. I do want to reiterate that the staff were all very pleasant. I did hear some gossiping while I was at the evening reception in the open door to the kitchen, I think. They were far enough back that they probably didn't know anyone heard but they could be heard. It wasn't loud or overbearing or anything just audible and probably not appropriate. However, when I asked those same people if they could get some more of something for me they were...
Read moreThe room was fine. Could have been cleaner, mold in corner of shower and garbage left in garbage can. Bed was obviously indented and old. My biggest issue is that I booked this hotel and my room specifically for the gym and my rooms proximity to the gym. Not untill after checking in did I find out the gym is not in use and in the same hall as my room they have multiple noisy wind machines drying out some kind of major water damage. You'd think they would shut down that hallway so guests don't have to walk through that nonsense in and out the entire stay.
What really set me off is at 9am I had housekeeping knocking on my door though I had not checked out and it's not check out till 11 or 12. I told guy that I would be at least another hour. 15 minutes later a girl just walked in and I told her I had not checked out and she should knock first. Then yet AGAIN, 15 minutes later another woman just walked right into my room. No apology or anything. Just looked around and when I said you're the 3rd person and I'm not checked out she just walked away. By now I'm just livid..... I went to desk and was told there is no manager and he guessed as to when one would be in. He was nice but no help and obviously not the least bit concerned with what had just happened as a massive invasion of my privacy.
Update : 5/31. My company was bringing in appx $20,000 in business to this hotel with 2 months worth of training having people in and out and we have since pulled everyone out. This place is just awful and mgmt is no help. Hang up on you when you call, cancle $4,000 reservations for 3 week stays then try to charge you double claiming they are booked and that's the new price.... just literally everything about this place is a mess.
