The cashier who took our order was soft spoken and hard to hear despite asking her to repeat herself twice. She was slow to take our orders. We sat down and hoped to find our toddlers some highchairs. None were available. Until i spotted two in the patio section which were covered in food and water from previous customers. I grabbed napkins and cleaned them off myself outside and then again once i brought them inside. The cooks were doing their best to get food orders out. The cashier was visibly destressed taking orders as there was a line of about 10 people after we came in. She brought food out that was NOT our order and sat it at our table. We let her know about 5 minutes after that this was not our order. She pick up the plates and then proceeded to ask us our order. We reiterated our order. She went back to take more orders and we waited about 20 more minutes for food. When we received some of our items we made efforts to eat but because we had only partial items we were not able to enjoy it together. The kids food came out last. Despite order for dine in, we were given our order in to go containers. The cashier was trying to run food orders after taking everyones order. She was confused and didnt know what went to whom. After sevral minutes another customer decided to grab his order off the counter and proceeded to sit and enjoy his meal. I found part of our order on the table and while waiting for her to come by so i could get napkins as the supply area had none. The food after about 30 minutes arrived with the remaining items. By then the kids were fussy and we couldnt enjoy our meal. As we sat around i could hear the cashier shouting to the cook that she hated her job, could not wait to get off shift and would most likely 'never return to this place again since no one knows how to do their job or come to their shift' the cook while seemlesly putting out food orders told her to shut up and focus on getting food out. She gave up her rant which was in spanish and then proceeded to try and deliver orders until a nice black fellow employee came in the doors like a saving grace and began helping the cooks and delivering orders and getting the chaos under control. The food was pretty good (it was my first time trying this place) but the service was horrible. Very...
Read moreSaturday night, we wondered if Pei Wei was open. The parking lot barely had any cars, the inside so dimly lit left us wondering if they'd closed. But it was only 8pm ish, what the?!? Sadly after eating here we understand. Pei Wei just isn't a shadow of what it once was and I don't know why. They're still owned by PF Chang and the menu is still reflective of what should be good... That's it! "should be good!" We ordered spring rolls that were served hot but were literally white in color, not the golden brown crunchy tasty little yummies we wanted. These were like twisted rolled up burritos that were almost hollow inside but had a oriental flavor if you thought about it. Why in the world were they white and so lame? We ordered fried rice with our honey seared shrimp, "no scallions please." Pei Wei had the best fried rice ever. Not anymore. They used to use a sweet soy and have bits of silvered carrots along with other component bits. Boy was it ever good. Not anymore. The rice obviously was not made fresh and was bitter, barely warm and loaded with bits of scallions. (people do have food allergies and it's not good to serve something they've expressly asked not to be in their food!) The food was served quickly but that's probably because we were the only people in the restaurant. While we ate the staff was noisy cleaning most everything but the badly littered and trash strewn floor. Litter and trash literally occupied every aspect of the entire eating area floor. We ate at a booth that had wads of napkins, wrappers and silverware all around. And this was one of the cleaner eating areas! Walking out and seeing the rest of the dining floor we just couldn't believe it, how literally filthy the floor was! It's almost like someone purposely ignored it as you couldn't help but notice. We like obviously others who no longer dine here may just have to hold on to the memories of what Pei Wei...
Read moreFirst, I will describe my last experience at,Pei Wei. I placed 2 orders to go. One of them did not go through even though I received,an email confirmation. So, I had to wait for them to make the 2nd order. They don't have a heating area, so the first order got cold. The manager told the kitchen to bump my order to the front and she yelled 'no, you'll get it when you get it.' I had to wait 30 minutes. Another order was prepared that had my items. I asked the girl if that was mine and she said 'no'. After a few minutes, I asked if I could have those items and she could give my items to the other people when they arrived. She checked with the manager and said 'Ok'. I had ordered extra sauce, so I asked if they could fix that. The manager told them, but they couldn't be bothered so I left after about 5 minutes. Also, I heard the kitchen lady yelling at the manager something snippy about a time when the manager wasn't there in response to a simple statement the manager made about someone who didn't show up for work. The whole thing was very unpleasant and unprofessional. I think she should fire the kitchen lady as that woman has no business working in a service area where customers can hear her attitude. Also, I use to go to the one on McEwen. It closed so I had to drive to Brentwood for this order. I use to love Pei Wei. My favorite dish was the orange peel shrimp. They changed the recipe and now I don't like it. They added the Wei Better Orange and it was a disappointment. I have found other dishes I can enjoy, but not as much. We use to go there every week. I have never had a worse experience at a dine,in or carry out restaurant.
To owner, I did not receive the form...
