My husband and I were in Brevard celebrating our wedding anniversary earlier this week and we made a reservation in advance since they were strongly recommended. I assumed that meant they were high in demand because they're one of the better restaurants in the area but we both ended up underwhelmed. Service was mostly good though it did take a long time for our entrees to come out due to, apparently, their printers not working which took them a while to notice. The entrees weren't terrible but didn't end up being worth the extra wait. I got one of the night's specials, snapper topped with a crab "slaw" and served with three pieces of already cold, slightly cheesy broccoli and mashed potatoes. The snapper was quite mediocre. I've never had it before and I wasn't impressed. It wasn't especially bad, it was just pretty bland and nondescript and had a slightly odd texture that I'm not sure how to describe. It was just like any other basic, flaky white fish, there just wasn't much to it. It didn't seem very fresh. The brightness of the capers in the crab slaw it was topped with and some lemon juice helped but not enough. The mashed potatoes were pretty good at least. My husband had to replace the fries that came with his fish and chips because they were so soft and just not good. They looked, felt and tasted exactly like fast food fries that have been sitting out in the warmer for too long. We were offered a free dessert for the extra wait for the entrees and I chose the key lime pie to go. We were staying in a cabin less than ten minutes away and by the time we got the pie home it had sort of melted significantly. I've never had such soft, pudding-like key lime pie. It was tasty but extra sour. Overall a pretty disappointing dinner and I'm not sure why they're always so slammed that they recommend reservations. It was all...

I tried for one week to call and make reservations. I understand they don’t open until 5 pm, but regardless of what time I called, I never got an answer. There was no option to leave a voicemail. We took our chances on a Saturday night at 5 pm to get a table for 4. While inquiring, they received a call for a cancellation which was offered to us. It was a booth for 2 in the bar area. We were seated by 5:20 and placed our order by 5:35. End f backstory. The two main reasons they get a bad review:

1: food. Greek salad with salmon was extremely small and flavorless. Salmon was way overcooked. It lacked an adequate amount of feta and olives. Halibut dry, but did come with 2 tasty asparagus. Fish and chips was equivalent to Gortons. Way overpriced for less than mediocre food.

2: the hostess/manager/or owner came by our table at least 6 times to remind us that our table had a 6:30 reservation. We felt extremely rushed. I had no control when our food came out or when we got our bill. While midway through the meal, she came by to say the 6:30 couple was outside waiting. It was 6:15 when this happened. She did it an additional 2 times. Had the table been larger, I would had offered her a seat as she seemed to become a part of our group. I’ve been in great restaurants all over the world. While I realize this is Brevard and not Paris or Prague, I...

We recently visited to celebrate our 5th anniversary. The ingredients were fresh, but bland. Little to no seasoning on anything. For the price, I expected bold, adult flavors but received boring and pedestrian. The hostess was very nice and personable but the waitress was lacking. After offering us a wine list and informing us that they don't know how to make a lot of cocktails, even though there have a full bar, she then took our drink order and afterwards decided to card us even though I'm almost 40. Unfortunately I had lost my wallet so I didn't get to drink, but my husband had an old fashioned that was way over poured. All in all, I wouldn't come back for the price we paid. It seems the wait staff are in need of training and a little common sense and the chef needs to find the...

We visited Brevard for the White Squirrel Festival and came across this small, charming restaurant. The menu looked good, so gave it a try later that evening. We had made reservations for two ahead of time and were seated promptly. We both started with a bowl of New England clam chowder. It was good , but barely warm. I had the Fresh North Carolina Trout, sautéed and served with lemon herb butter, mashed potatoes and asparagus. I really enjoyed it. My husband chose the Filet Mignon with borderlaise sauce for his entree which was cooked to perfection. Carrot cake and chocolate lava cake with ice cream completed our meal. Our waitress, Shannon was very sweet and a great server.

We have eaten at The Falls Landing on prior visits. Always great food and service. On this visit for lunch the Rainbow Trout Lunch Special was terrfic. The trout was very good with rice and fresh green beans. Our waitress was very good, too. Note when checking hours of operation, they are closed mid-afternoon and reopen for dinner. We thought it was closed one afternoon and it was because Googlemaps showed closed yet it re-opened at 5:00PM. They have a small bar inside and nice booth and table seating.

Ended up in this spot by pure accident after we couldn’t find the restaurant we were looking for but it ended up being an entirely delightful meal. The food was tasty well prepared and served very rapidly the staff attentive and friendly engaged us in conversation along with other patrons creating a warm and welcoming environment. The interior is well decorated pairing nicely with the friendly staff and good food. Would highly recommend stopping here if you have the chance!
