El Rey Mexican Grill And Bar — Restaurant in Brewton

While we have eaten in the restaurant before most of our meals are take out lately. We have ordered probably 5 to 6 times over the course of the last several months and it NEVER fails, the take out order is NEVER correct, and tonight it was because the person taking our order over the phone could not be bothered to listen to my wife as she called in our order. during the call there were long stretched of silence where my wife would wait for a response as to the food in each person's order and each time there was dead air followed by "I'm sorry". At the close of the call she repeated our order and it sounded like she got everything correct...then we went and picked it up, got it home and started spreading the plate around the 7 of us and sure enough, they missed something and here I go back...

At this point I'm done with them, next time we want Mexican we will be going to Atmore's Acapulco's Mexican restaurant instead, if they do this bad with all the to go orders I have to wonder how they are...

I wanted to give 5 stars. The margarita was good and the the tacos were pretty good. The prices on the menu are not true. When I got my ticket the dip was $1 and change more and the tacos were $2 and change more. Honestly wouldn’t have been an issue bc I liked this place more than the Mexican restaurant up the street but the fact that I wasn’t told this until I got my ticket was an issue. Spoke with manager and she said she “assumed people would read the notice on the door” but she said the menu hasn’t been updated for 3 years? So locals may know but people like myself who isn’t a local wouldn’t know. So I said either give me the price on the menu or I won’t be leaving a tip bc ur prices are fraud… I didn’t leave a tip. And u was charged a service fee 😂. I won’t be returning which is sad because I like everything about this restaurant compared to the other Mexican restaurant. Oh well! I hope they up date their menus and stop...

The quality of El Rey's has diminished tremendously. Overpriced underwhelming badattitude havin service. They will lie to you about the prices on the menu, they will overcharge you if you're not paying attention. The quality of the food is not what it used to be. It's my own fault because the last few times I went there the service and food were poor, however I went one more time and unfortunately it'll be my last. I ordered two shredded chicken quesadillas and a cup of cheese dip. The two, hardley any chicken quesadillas were hardly shredded, clumps of dry chicken no sauce, and cold cheese. I paid as much for those two dry nasty quesadillas and a cup of cheese dip, as I would have a 3-piece whole catfish dinner with two sides and hush puppies from David's catfish. Should've went with...
