Where do I start… We arrived around 6 pm on a Friday night and yes, it was very busy. We are very familiar with the restaurant industry as my husband is a chef and I served/bartended most of my 20s & 30s. We had our 15 month old with us, so obviously we always are hopeful food will arrive quickly. All that said, we waited 45 mins for two of the most BASIC dishes on the menu and when my dish arrived, it was cold. My husbands never arrived. The server dropped of my COLD food and said NOTHING about my husbands missing dish. I obviously sent my food back and again, no comment about the missing dish. Brought back my dish, which I assume was just warmed in a microwave, and again, NO COMMENT ABOUT MY HUSBANDS MISSING FOOD. I finally said, okay, we’re not paying for this meal, AND my husbands food isn’t here yet. After about an HOUR he finally gets his CHICKEN AND RICE. Give me a break people! The server blamed it on the kitchen and so did the manager and listen we get it…be there done that…but it wasn’t just the kitchen. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I was BEYOND upset. I will forever be an El Rey fan and highly recommend them over this place. We’ve had amazing service and food EVERY TIME we go to El Rey. The only reason this isn’t a 1 star review is because they must have done some updating and the tables/booths/paint/etc were all new and it was so refreshing to see. Otherwise, save your money (El Rey is less expensive AND better) and...
Read moreAtmosphere- 4 stars- nice clean and decorative Mexican restaurant. Sits in a small shopping plaza off of Jerry Dove Drive just before the entrance to the FBI complex. High ceilings which makes it feel bigger than it actually is however it has plenty of tables and a full bar.
Service- 3 stars- kinda slow getting our order and food which is not what we’re used to at most Mexican establishments. Once we did get our food it was awhile before we saw our waiter and had to flag down a different one to try and get a refill.
Food- 4 stars- everything we ordered was very good. I got a soft taco, cheese enchilada and chili con queso. The beef was seasoned very well. We also got an order of lunch chicken fajitas. Again very good just could have been more chicken than veggies. All in all a solid...
Read moreThank you for making my day. Quickly sat (no wait) and given a warm, crunchy bowl of chips (fresh tasting). Enough salsa and white sauce stuff. Wife got lunch #16 (spicy sauce on a pineapple, chicken burrito that went well together), I got a taco thing from the lunch menu because I asked the waiter for anything that was bigger or heavy. We both got margaritas that were orange instead of lime juice, odd but good... and stronger than we expected. All the food was flavorful, cooked well, seasoned just strong enough, and quickly served. $30 not counting a tip of 2 lunches and adult drinks (one top shelf at $10). Took the chips and little bit of leftover home. The price is where...
