Worst experience possible. Asked kid at counter for cup of water - he said they don't have cups. Asked kid at counter what kind of fish they use in fish n chips - he said he had no idea, but "it was white". Asked for the CT roll to be made a 'Mighty Mystic' - roll was larger, amt of lobster was in NO way 50% more. Dr. Pepper from drink case was expired. Asked man if I could get another one - answer was "sure, but they're probably all expired, so pick any one you want instead". Website claims "casual dining". This was cafeteria trays (not clean, btw), on metal tables with metal chairs. (Olive Garden is casual dining!) Mac n cheese? More like pasta in white soup. So BYO spoon. And had a person with us who doesn't like seafood, so we went specifically to get her the chicken tenders. Kid goes to back room, comes out and said they're "all out of tenders". We're about the easiest-going group of four people out there...when I say Save your money - I say it with 100% conviction. (side note: Brigantine is a very tourist-friendly town, and those year-round inhabitants here are fortunate enough to own 2,3,4 Million dollar homes....I'll bet my last dollar they NEVER go to Mystic Lobster Roll....and...
Read moreFinally tried the Mystic Lobster Roll Co. I really wanted to like this place, but honestly, the food was just OK and the cost was outrageous! Paid $32.71 for ONE person, glad I did not bring the family, I would have had to mortgage the house. Had a Maine Lobster Roll and the Yukon Gold Potatoes side. They give you a super small (about 1-2 tablespoon) side of coleslaw and a single pickle slice. The portion size of the roll is “tiny”. See my finger in the photo for perspective. They claim 6” but it looks smaller than a typical hot dog bun. Should have got out the tape measure. The Yukons were warmed up with melted butter and Old Bay seasoning on top. Not a fan of the 4% surcharge when I offered a debit card transaction, and of course, left a 15% tip for the young girl working the counter.
I understand that seafood is not cheap and that inflation is running rampant, but then how can The Crab Trap in Sommers Point sell a whole steamed 1 and 1/4LB lobster dinner (with sides and a salad) for $30 bucks?
Nice try guys, perhaps you can work on the portion size or reduce...
Read moreHonestly the only thing this meal was good for was a good laugh.. to their credit, the lobster itself tasted really fresh, but there was so little of it to enjoy that we were left thinking about our still empty bellies and equally empty wallets. We got 2 New England rolls, 1 Connecticut, and 1 Maine. The only difference between them was that the New England rolls had about 3 pieces from a bag of mixed greens on the roll and lemon on the side. The rolls were comically small. At first we described them as hotdog rolls but realized they were even smaller. Save your money, go to Crab Shack. Plan for it to be busy but rest easy knowing you’re getting good quality food for a good price. In conclusion, although this meal began in laughter, it ultimately ended in a few crabby,...
