Bert's Family Cafe — Restaurant in Brigham City

This one is a bit of a disappointment for us after reading the reviews compared to our personal experience.

For me was very average diner food; not super impressive. Not quite even at the average 3-star mark for me on this day.

I'm not familiar with enough alternatives in the Brigham area to say if I'd pass or not on this one but compared to others I've been not local to Brigham I'd say this is a pass.

We tried the bone-in and the burger with some chili fries and a raspberry 'shake'.

The bone-in was waaaaay over salted / seasoned. Almost inedible. We took it to go for some neighbors dogs.

Burger was fine, no complaints but not kudos either.

The 'shake' was like milk in it's consistency and a bit flavorless. Could use more raspberries that's for sure.

Perhaps it was the day or the chef etc but unfortunately we couldn't get a recommendation on this one.

Location: was fantastically busy with countless details around it's walls. It was a great historic diner feel and look on the inside.

I generally don’t do this. Have being a server myself, I know how it is to take care of a restaurant alone. And I really don’t want to be this person, however the service we had today July 3rd, 2025 at Bert’s was horrible. The cook actually had to bring part of our order I think cuz I was starring at him. The waitress was a young dark hair girl with glasses, she was very rude!!!! Even telling a customer omg the food has to cook! I wasn’t paying but I would have left her the penny trick tip!! No refills, didn’t even leave a straw.. if you’re miserable at your job find something else!! Give this girl some customer service training!!!! I mean the place wasn’t even that busy!! She even rolled her eyes to finally bring one refill!! Didn’t even ask if she could do anything else for our table! If I was the manager I wouldn’t let this girl serve at my restaurant!!!! I’m sure the food must be good but we waited for an hour and ten minutes. The food never showed up. They chose not to refill our drinks. Screaming babies! Too crowded: Poorly run! Management and owners must be irresponsible! It only costs restaurants 3 bucks an hour to hire servers here in Utah. They don’t even make minimum wage like 47 other states in the US. So, they can hire an additional server… there are many single moms and even my wife that could work a Saturday morning. Seriously guys… also have a few servers on call. And don’t blame it on people that don’t want to work. There are enough people out there that wouldn’t mind working a Saturday morning to have a side gig. Lastly, there are was a little boy bussing tables and the waitresses were going off on him because he was too slow. Isn’t that in violation of federal or state labor laws? Is he even getting paid?
