And then, he said he had some leftover oatmilk ice cream that he had to get rid of but he had one scoop left. Would we like it? My son wanted it, but because I didn’t want to accept a free scoop, I bought something else to be polite. when we checked out, he flat out told me he was charging me for the old scoop that he had...

My 3 year old son has a severe dairy allergy. I was excited to find out that they offered dairy free options. When we had already waited in line and the kids were excited for ice cream, we found out that there is no dedicated scooper for the dairy free options. So all of the tubs that were "dairy free" had been scooped with the same scoops as the dairy meaning dairy ice cream was all mixed in. In my opinion, you should not be able to advertise dairy free if the entire tub has dairy ice cream mixed in.

EDITING TO ANSWER OWNER REPLY The workers went to check in the back but there was no new tub available to scoop from. Why not just keep all dairy free tubs with dairy free scoops? It doesn't make practical sense that you would keep a non contaminated tub in the back...

Update: having Celiac disease really limits my options of safe places to eat. When I was in getting my ice-cream fix, the worker helping me noticed a drop of a non-gluten free ice-cream in the one I had chosen. She cleaned it out, washed her hands and then got a fresh scoop and went into the freezer to get me a allergy safe serving. That is amazing customer service and I don't see that happen often. Hats off blank slate, thank you for keeping me safe and healthy. 👏🏻
