Where do I begin with such an experience at the Brighton Village Inn. As we walked into their establishment, my girlfriend and I, were greeted by a peculiar little man who awkwardly started at my girls breasts before he meandered through the restaurant to seat us. As though he was unsure where we were to sit, he eventually found us a booth in the near empty restaurant. Once at our booth and seated comfortably we were approached by our waitor who took our drink order and scurried away to pour the beverages. Coffee and water for us both and a tall glass of orange juice for my girl. Upon his return with the said beverages, except for the orange juice which we were never to see durning or dining experience, he placed them appropriately around the table. Reminded of the orange juice he disappeared to apparently not get it. As a man who loves black coffee I scooped up my mug and took a sip. Ugh, whatever was that awful taste? It is rather difficult to mess up black coffee but some how they managed it. Without hesitation I inspected the mug and to my surprise there was a huge pair of red lipstick imprints on the rim of the mug. Disgust swelled over me. The waitor returned again without orange juice and apologized for the mug with which he replaced it. He then took our food order. Scrambled eggs, gravy, chocolate chip pancakes, and bacon for my girl and the nacho skillet for me with sourdough toast. I wanted my eggs cooked over easy but unfortunately, I was informed that I could only have scrambled eggs. This was apparently because all the skillets come pre-made. Frozen. My entrée was frozen. How is an established breakfast restaurant incapable of making dishes fresh to order? However, the fault stands with me for I was informed of this as I ordered it and decided to "risk it for the biscuit." By far one of the worst decisions I've made in a very long time. My skillet came out swimming in a puddle of water from however they cooked it. From the first to my last bites were terrible. I could not finish my dish regardless of how hungry I was. I wanted to wash it down with water. As you could imagine I drained it rather quickly from the lipstick, make out session, I endured early on but my glass remained empty. Never to be filled again as I continued to struggle eating water drowned eggs. The only thing I enjoyed on the entire dish were the potatoes. Of course there are only about 5 of them in comparison to the groupings of the country potatoes they used to serve. Then on to my toast! Wait! What toast? No, of course I didn't get my toast I got a short stack of burnt pancakes. Luckily my girls dish came out just fine as she was able to enjoy all of hers especially while she was laughing at my expense. Our awful, or my terrible, experience was coming to an end. We received the ticket, paid, and left with no intentions of returning to this particular...
Read moreCame in at about 11 on a Thursday, maybe 8 people in restaurant:
waitress is clueless. Took 5 min to get seated and 20 min to get drinks (iced tea). Spent 80% of our time drink-less. You can hear her back in the kitchen cutting up with the cooks, meanwhile people have been standing waiting to be seated for five minutes, drinks are empty, tables filthy, etc. There is literally not a single employee in the dining area 90% of the time. I could have taken the register and 20 pies unnoticed. She literally delivered a table's food and left the tray on top of the tray stand right at the end of their table for their entire meal. I can't stress how laughable the service situation was. It was hard to believe. drink glass was filthy, covered in dried cheese, etc manager (Michael) spent most of his time outside/in back (smoking?) and was of absolutely zero help. When I told him at the counter that this was arguably the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant he responded "I know" and attempted to act apologetic. Completely incompetent and a total space cadet. Like huffing paint level of incompetent. my coworker literally had to walk halfway into the kitchen to finally get our drinks at which time we were completely done and leaving. English muffin came out completely dry and untouched. I mean they took one out of the bag cut it in half and put it on my plate. A busboy finally emerged from somewhere (first time we had seen him in the hour or so we were there and acts like they are shorthanded. At this point there are five people dining in the restaurant. I could've cooked, cleaned, waited, everything and still offered better service. They were never shorthanded; you could hear them in the kitchen the entire time as everyone's head in the lobby was turning searching for their server.
After a long day starting in Gillette, WY we were hoping for a halfway decent, late dinner but got what almost seemed like a hidden camera prank instead. Zero stars if it were possible. Gas station taquitos and a warm beer would've been a more...
Read moreVillage Inn- Decided to try something other then Main Steet Cafe’ decided to try Village Inn since we just came out of planet fitness, convenient since it was in the same parking lot! Big mistake! Now we got there and was seated fairly quickly however we sat at our table for a half hour before the hostess finally noticed that no one has came by to help us.. she goes back and grabs the waitress to come take our drink order who still decide to take her time and come back and take our drink order which at this time we would of forgot about the wait if the service would have gotten better but it didn’t!!!! Keep in mind the other waiting staff had their tables served and bussed before we even got our drinks from our server…. So it’s not the entire restaurant!!! So my daughter had to leave so we asked that we get her food boxed and we could take it to her to eat later. The staff got offended and thought we asked for all our food boxed up which at the time didn’t bother us as it was hot in there the fruit fly’s were aggressive! Now the hostess was probably the only one that was worried about our experience she did apologize and wrote off a few things as my wife’s water had a bug in it. So we are getting home and realized some of the order was incorrect and didn’t get some of it! My wife was irate at this time and had to call the restaurant manager! Between the manager making it right and refunding it and the hostess the only good part, I would strongly suggest the waitress get trained better as she seemed overwhelmed and clueless! Some people just aren’t meant for...
