Terrible service and even worse food. The entire place was EMPTY during dinner time. That should’ve been tell all.

We ordered a coke, large combo pho, spring rolls, rice combo, and taro boba.

The taro boba has zero flavor, it was literally blended ice with purple food coloring. The coke was watered down….how?!?! The pho was probably the worst we’ve ever had and the rice combo was okay if drenched in sauce and only eating the rice and egg because the meat had questionable flavor and was not edible.

As mentioned, the entire place was EMPTY. The server had no reason not to check in on us, but whatever, I went to pay and asked kindly to have the boba removed because I couldn’t even finish one sip, a blind person could see that it wasn’t touched. The lady had the audacity to start bickering with me that I should’ve walked myself up while she was doing nothing, and told her before our meal was over. I said “your place is empty. You should’ve been a server and asked if we needed anything” I didn’t want to argue. I didn’t want to be rude and tell her their food was disgusting as one family came to pick up food during this time and seemed like regulars. Then she got nasty and what’s even worse, it tried to charge me extra for “to go” pho which adds a few dollars for to-go food which I know is common in most pho places, but I took NOTHING to go. Instead, we left more food because it was literally inedible. I didn’t ask to comply my entire meal even though we barely ate. I didn’t ask for even a discount. I simply asked for something to be taken off that wasn’t touched at all!

This place is literally for people wanting to waste time and money for flavorless, disgusting food. You’re better...

I wish I could give it 0 stars, but unfortunately that isn’t an option. This was the absolute worst place I’ve ever been served. When we got there, we were sat right away. We waited there for 30 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. We were never asked if we wanted something to drink, so we finally told them what we wanted. We then waited about 20 minutes and still didn’t have anything. So I went to the front and told them we needed our drinks still. 10 minutes later, we finally got our drinks. About 20 minutes later we got our appetizers, which was the best tasting thing of the whole meal. 15 minutes later, 3 of the 5 people got their food. About 10 minutes later, the other two got their food, which one came out terribly wrong, as the girl that ordered the chicken fried rice had shrimp in it, and she is very allergic. The waitress then told her that she would take it in the back and take the shrimp out and add more chicken to it. Definitely not recommend for someone who can’t eat anything that it has touched. She ended up canceling the order, as everyone else had already finished their food. Then when it came time to pay, the lady tried charging us for the cancelled food, which is complete and total bs, seeing as the food was never even touched. She then proceeded to argue with us over our bill, and she was being very rude about everything. I can honestly say that this was a completely horrendous experience, and we will never take our...

Service was NOT great, staff was actually quite rude. Urgency was not there, waited a good hour just for some drinks, over an hour 1/2 for our food to come out. Staff did not make an effort to even try to come to our table even after trying many times to get their attention, definitely felt intentionally ignored at some point. While waiting for quite awhile, I had some time to look around at my surroundings.. there were bugs (looked like SUPER large black ants) crawling up and down the booth we were sitting at, as well as up and down the walls. I mean bugs happen but not my favorite while sitting in a restaurant to eat.. cleanliness was a 2/10.. Food was not bad- but the fact that the staff was just not inviting nor friendly, and also the bugs/ lack of cleanliness just made this overall not somewhere i’d like to come eat again. (i really should’ve left beforehand like my instinct told me to, idk why i didn’t) When it was time to go to the counter & pay, was the ONLY time the staff had not avoided me/talked to me. I asked for a box for my leftovers, he insisted I needed to pay extra for EACH takeout box.. never has happened any restaurant i’ve been, he argued with me for a good minute & eventually got frustrated & said “fine, never mind just take it”.. so i did & never stepped foot in the place again :) i wanted this place to work out, it was so close to home but honestly was so disappointing & i do...

We tried Pho 81 for the first time tonight! We LOVED it. We ordered cheese wontons, fried dumplings, and 2 small rare steak pho. The fried dumplings are seriously the BEST I've ever tasted. The cheese wontons were delicious. The pho? I mean wow. That broth is very flavorful! I'm so glad I didn't read reviews before going and tried it very randomly. I had the best customer service. Mom was cooking, Daughter taking orders and waiting, and a gentleman (maybe dad?) Cleaning tables. It was a very homey feeling. The daughter made sure we were comfortable sitting in from the snow storm while we waitied for our order to go. I would definitely recommend if you have the time to wait on your meal. Definitely not a fast food joint so if you're expecting to not wait go to nasty panda express. Patience, for all good things come to those that wait. It was amazing! Thank you family at Pho 81!

There are only a few pho places in Brighton. This one is in the Brighton Pavilions. The restaurant isn't elaborately decorated, they feature big jugs of cheap Carlo Rossi 🍷 on the counters. The menu featured typical Vietnamese fare. My son and I had the pho, my wife the special rice platter. Both were tasty. We started with spring rolls and shrimp chips. Again, tasty. What really drew our attention was a group of men. One of them ordered the pho challenge bowl. 3lbs of noodles, 3lbs of meat, and 3 litres of soup. This is to be eaten in one hour. The bowl was enormous! The atmosphere was non-existent, food was good, fun owners. I would have given a 5, but the place was a bit untidy.

Have to give this a one star review, I will not be back after today’s meal. As a family we have gone to TJ’s Pho for years and LOVE IT! Today was Sunday, so we had to move to our second option for Pho. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a substandard meal at Pho 81, but we understand you can’t judge a restaurant after one visit, everyone has off days. I ordered, pick up, Vietnamese noodle bowl with chicken, beef, shrimp ( only got one) and egg roll. The beef was not fully cooked and was mostly fat. I could not eat it. See pics, and if you like raw beef with slimy fat, you might like this.
