The vibe in here is relaxed and feels like a safe space for my 30 something discomfort from the “youth.” The location is industrial with a modern polish. Coffees (cortado and a latte) were excellent. Smooth and rich, deep flavor without bitterness. The avocado toast was fantastic with pickled radishes and microgreens. The overall experience would have been capstones by the skilled staff - unfortunately we must have hit an off day. The baristas were fairly short with us, may have been the day. Either way we hope to get back to catch folks on a better day.

Great location and vibe - but I have never had much luck getting a satisfying coffee here. Their espressos are very, very short. Some may like this, I find their interpretation a bit extreme - or at least they could offer a doppio. This last time, I got a decaf espresso that was so was very odd - like it had some type of cleaning fluid in it. It literally burned my throat. I was told that it was their hibernation roast. It was their only choice in decaf - so once again it didn't work out.

Awesome stop for espresso martinis! Coffee shop/bakery by day, lofi jazzy bar with live music at night! Park anywhere in this plaza and walk, there are plenty of cool shops to check out around the spot, including a brewery! Bartender was kind and knowledgeable and the drinks were awesome. You can tell that the people working the bar all have plenty of experience. We got some donuts and espresso martinis, everything was great!

Unfortunately my review is entirely to do with service, and shouldn’t be reflective of their coffee which I have nothing but great things to say about. Been going to Borealis since long before this location was even open; we live right around the corner from the Riverside location. My husband and I stopped in here after being at the events downtown to grab some dessert and coffee while we fed our newborn twins. Since they were in a carriage and there were multiple singular people taking up the bigger tables, we settled in the area that’s typically closed for events, because the doors were off and it had no signage. So when I ordered I asked them if it was okay and explained the situation. The girl tells me it’s not okay that we sit there, that we’d have to pay. And so I asked if anyone had reserved it for the night or even just the next hour. She said no, but again told me we couldn’t sit there, even though at this point I would’ve just paid to. She further asks one of the other kids working there who also says flat out no, not even that they’d have to ask. Pretty sickening that a local business I’ve personally supported for years would turn away a community member and their infant children when they are paying customers. Honestly it even feels discriminatory of young families, and at the very least is unkind especially on a brisker fall night. The girls were asleep, so it’s not even like they were disturbing people. I’d be hard pressed to give them my...

I liked the aesthetic when I walked in until I got to the counter and the girl at the register didn’t greet me and said “what do you want?” Without even a smile. Throughout the entire order she was short snarky and seemed like she couldn’t be bothered. I wasn’t able to enjoy the atmosphere because I wanted to leave so badly. Maybe if she just said hi the experience wouldn’t have been so bad. Just needs better customer service from the one girl with brown hair and glasses. Disappointed by the parfait.no actual fruit just sauce. For some reason there was rosemary in mine? I do not like rosemary which is how I was able to point out the few pieces of seasoning in my parfait??? Maybe it touched something else but that would be cross contamination which worries me. And if it was meant to be in there, why? Why not add fruit instead of a random seasoning that just ruins the flavor all together. Food and coffee is not worth the price or...

The lady that took our order was extremely rude to my girlfriend. It was our first time going and she didn’t even say hi to us when we came in just “what do you want” very monotone and did not seem to enjoy her life very much. When we asked about cold foam she cut my girlfriend off and just said “we don’t have coldfoam.” Needless to say she handled her job with little grace which is a shame considering the atmosphere and food is good, yet pricy. You typically expect a little bit more hospitality from these places and if Dunkin and Starbucks can be nicer to us then why spend 30 bucks on coffee if I won’t get the same treatment. Very disappointed and will not be returning. If anyone is interested the one taking our order was the one with brown hair...
