I have been wanting to try Brick for a while. We drove over an hour on Mother’s Day. Yes we understand places may be busier than usual and have patience for that. But when we order appetizers and pizza for the kids and it gets dropped off by a food runner and we are sitting there waiting for side plates for 20 minutes with no server in sight - it’s an issue. Finally we got up to go to the server station to ask for plates- our server apologized and said sorry I’m swamped. (We get it) the kids pizza is now cold and so is our appetizer. Then our food comes- all drinks empty. Once again, no server in sight. We finally flag her down after being halfway done with our dinner - go drinks refills. She again apologizes, takes our drink order and has another server deliver them. She doesn’t come back to our table for another 20 minutes. It doesn’t sound like a lot but when you have 3 kids who are done eating and now you’ve finished a while ago too, it’s overwhelming. We ask for 4 boxes and the dessert menu. She brings 3 boxes and dessert menu and disappears for another 20 minutes. Finally comes over and says sorry again. She doesn’t ask about desert but leaves us the little handheld thing to pay. This was a terrible first experience- especially on Mother’s Day. I worked in the restaurant a restaurant as a server for 15 years- I get being swamped. But once you apologize once for it, you need to figure it out and be more efficient. The same family shouldn’t be at a restaurant for 2 hours and 45 minutes for a simple dinner. If you can’t handle a given table, give it away to a server who can. Terrible Mother’s Day experience and I wanted to love this...
Read morefirst off, the food here is really pretty good. there are a few flaws, but my three-star review is more caused by the prices. first, the pizza. The brick oven does produce it yummy crust. but several of the pizzas our party had left a good two to two and a half inches of crust with no cheese. maybe that's fine if your pizza is 21 in in diameter or something. but if it's 16 to 18 in in diameter, it frankly cuts a tasty meal in half. the toppings are good and high quality but there is not enough, and that includes the cheese. my grape of these kinds of pizzas is they are not well done enough and crispy enough on the top but I think that is just my personal preference so I don't hold it against the restaurant. but I will say what there was of it was really quite yummy and good. more seriously, was the size of the roasted chicken entree. $24. one of the entrees with the higher prices at this restaurant. it came and it was a small chicken breast. very small. would just a few little tiny potatoes, a smattering of garlic spinach, and two or three other tiny roasted vegetables. it didn't strike me as the kind of fine dining restaurant that would warrant inflated prices so I felt kind of ripped off by this entree. again it was very very good, but even with inflation too expensive. I guess we were all paying for atmosphere. which this place has plenty of. the beautiful restored factory and high ceilings makes a great place to have a meal. I would go there again..... if somebody...
Read moreI’ve loved Brick Pizza ever since I moved to Bristol a few years ago. I had nothing but great experiences and fantastic food, and I’ve brought many many people there. That’s why it saddens me to say that I had my first bad experience recently. I was sitting down to have dinner with my mom who was visiting and we both ordered a beer. The waitress asked for my ID which is totally fine with me. She told me she couldn’t serve me because my ID wasn’t real since it didn’t have a “watermark” on it. Mind you I’m 25 and have never had an issue with my ID the million other times I’ve used it there. I let her bring the manager over to check for himself and he told me that it looked different from his girlfriend’s ID, who I assume is also from NY. He then asked to compare it to my mother’s and again said “well these look different” (my mom has an enhanced license so it is different). The manager even scanned my ID and said “sorry I can’t serve you, it’s coming up as fake,” which I'm sure he just said that because they were already in too deep. I’m so confused why this happened, maybe they had gotten in trouble for serving RWU kids with fakes. It’s just very unfortunate because this was one of my favorite places and now I feel...
