The staff Lynn was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. She told us a lot about Linden Place and the history of Bristol as well as other local restaurants and attractions. We learned a lot in the enhanced tour and closeness to the historical objects and enjoyed her hospitality. Some historical dots were connected here as we came from Fort Adams and the Newport Mansions tours.

A local treasure of history and culture. On levels with so many historic homes in New Englsnd and yet to say you know Bristol or even RI history without visiting here you have cheated yourself. Be challenged and be awed by beauty, architecture, and history. And do not miss it!

This was drop dead gorgeous. Some of the history is gross since the builders were big in the slave trade but much of the history is more positive as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Linden Place delivered beyond expectations for our wedding venue. While we had a wedding coordinator who took care of most of the logistics, this beautiful and historic venue was the perfect backdrop for our big day. The grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained and contributed to some phenomenal photos. Compared with many venues, we thought the pricing was extremely competitive for a venue capable of hosting either an indoor or outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and wedding reception all in the same place during the warmer months.

We didn’t communicate much with the Linden Place team directly, but they patiently worked with us when both a payment and damage deposit refund were inexplicably lost in the mail. The immediate family, wedding party members, and vendors were all able to park behind the reception area and our guests parked in local streets and we didn’t hear any complaints from guests about having to walk too far, even in early August.

Our only complaints were the limited access to the bridal suite, malfunctioning air conditioning in the reception area, and some strongly worded guest conduct terms in the contract. With the bridal suite, we had to ask our family and friends to move all of our wedding party’s stuff out of the suite during the cocktail hour/reception; this was also something the team had gone back and forth on, as we were originally told by the event coordinator that we could leave our stuff there all night. The air conditioning in the ballroom failed when vendors were setting up for the reception, but luckily the weather allowed us to open all the doors and make it work. Thank goodness for the outdoor courtyard area so guests could cool off! However, it did limit any dancing in the ballroom because it was just so hot. On the contract, they likely have had guests who had too much to drink and damaged the historic property, but we still felt some of the contract language about guest conduct was a little excessive.

All-in-all, we are so happy we chose Linden Place for our big day and would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a classic, intimate, and relaxed New England wedding throughout the Spring, Summer, or...

My niece had her wedding on the grounds of the Mansion. We were told many things that would be available. For example a wedding coordinator for the day. My niece was so excited for this day. On the day of the wedding there were two woman who DID not help at all. They spent the majority of the time complaining and stating that no-one could step a foot in the mansion after 5. Not even the bride and groom to take pictures in the sunroom. They also refused to open the carriage house doors even though it was pretty hot. When we were told that those doors would be open ( weather permitting) it was a perfect night for the carriage doors. The mother of the bride left during a very special dance to insist the doors be open. She was told that the music was too loud ( mind you this was a wedding venue that catered to this type of event). I cannot be of certain but we are latinX and most of our music was in Spanish. Therefore this type of music was not appropriate according to the coordinator. The majority of the time the two woman gave everyone an attitude, were aloof and not helpful. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A VERY...

My name is Lynne Longworth I am in charge of trips through the Wells/ Ogunquit High School Adult Education department . I must write a review and let you know what a wonderful time our group had at Linden Place. We were originally scheduled to be in Newport and tour the 4 mansions but because of filmming for the show the Guilded Age we were only going to be able to see the Breakers, a huge disappontment as people had already booked the trip . I believed they would end up canceling the trip . Speaking with the man Dan Fryer at the Breakers he suggested to go to Blithewold Manor and Linden Place. I could not have been happier with how the tour ended up going. We had Lynn as our docent she was simply wonderful and told such great stories and she spoke clearly and was very enthusiastic about her job , what can I say she was wonderful. Thank you Linden Place for such a wonderful time you made the missing the other mansions in Newport...
