South Side Meat Market — Local services in Bristol

We went for the first time last weekend. They were busy, but service was quick and very friendly. I asked what was on-sale, and he suggested Rib Eye steaks. The ones in the case were too thin for us to grill, so we got them 2 1/2" thick -- they cheerfully cut them for us, right away.

I bought a quart of their delicious cole slaw ($8.99) and a quart of their homemade beans ($7.99).

The steaks were $35 apiece. Mea culpa because I didn't ask prices, nor did they offer them up. There are plenty of things offered on little signs, but there are no prices on anything. So be careful.

I sampled the beans while grilling the steaks. They were delicious, and obviously made from scratch. Same with the delicious, home-made cole slaw (it's got horseradish in it -- we love that, but some don't).

The steaks were breathtakingly tender. They didn't look like Prime grade meat -- but I guarantee you these were restaurant-quality and worth every penny.

Are you kidding me - I have shopped at South Side on and off through out the years - Always Excellent - Always Friendly -Always Worth it! I was craving a cheeseburger - although I had purchased ground beef from a local grocery store (which was ok-no issues) I was ready to call up my spouse and say were going out for lunch - as I wanted a really good burger. But I stopped at South Side Meat Market picked up hamburger and cheese. I came right home, started grill - went in and made hamburger patties - grilled them with cheese - made 4 - salt and peppered 2 - 2 plain - OMG!!! on a roll w/lettuce, tomato, onion and toasted bun .Better than Any restaurants - because of South Side - well worth the $ - always well worth the stop!!! The first time I walked into this store I really needed cold cuts and figured this place might have some. I went in and omg, everything looks and smells fabulous! The meat cuts look super fresh, the meat products are simply beautiful. They make their own sausages, the Italian sausages are out of this world. One lady in line commented how she cannot live without their chicken sausage. The most praised item seems to be their already marinated and ready to go flank steak. Worth mentioning are their hefty sandwiches and rich soups. You can also place orders in advance, they also cook for parties!
