I brought my 2 daughters ages 12 and 8 in for breakfast on Sunday morning. We had a 25 minute wait to be seated being a busy Sunday morning. When we got seated, Jim came over and introduced himself. He got down to table level and asked my girls their names and ages. I told him that I would like a coffee, "high test". He said that he had just the thing for me. BEST COFFEE EVER!!! He came back at perfect intervals to see how we were doing. Each time he came over, he told us a little about himself and his kids. He was so engaging with my AND my kids. He talked about towns on the shoreline that most people around here have never even heard of. Turns out, he and I know some of the same people. Both my kids and I all said that this was by far the best experience we have had at Parkside. We have NEVER had a bad experience, but there was something so comfortable and familiar about Jim. If this had been our first time there, Jim would be the reason for us to come back. Both my girls were raving about the food and the service the whole way back home. THANK YOU SO MUCH JIM FOR THE AMAZING EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE THAT YOU PROVIDED US TODAY!! Not all heroes wear capes. Some have an apron and an order pad. Good luck in all of your current and...
Read moreWow, I had no idea anything like this existed in Bristol. I had the pleasure of dining here after a burial service. Firstly the place was packed to the brim but even so they managed to accommodate our larger party. We were greeted pleasantly by our waitress. Krista who was very responsive and friendly, after our drinks were delivered to the table the owner of the restaurant came over to extend his condolences. As everyone was dressed in black, he realized it was a post-funeral gathering. After the owner extended extra hospitality, one of the patrons send a drink over to our party to express their sympathies. It was such an amazing feeling of community and warmth, which I believe is the atmosphere that this restaurant offers. Aside from all the fantastic hospitality we were shown, the food was outstanding. I think I had one of the best eggs benedict I've ever had in my life, no exaggeration. It with corned beef hash + the corned beef or the home fries were not even a cinch of greasy which is very...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I spent an entire Saturday at Lake Compounce and then stayed the night at the DoubleTree right around the corner. On Sunday we decided we would opt out of the free complimentary continental breakfast and find a local "hole in the wall" to get breakfast instead. A quick scan on Yelp yielded several restaurants in the area and we decided to give the ParkSide Cafe a shot. On a Sunday afternoon it was quite busy and we waited for about a half hour before deciding to just grab one of the sidewalk tables out front. We ordered our food after being served our drinks. I ordered the steak and eggs which also came with home fries. My girlfriend got the number 7, a standard breakfast spread consisting of bacon eggs and home fries. Everything was delicious and worth the wait. I would certainly recommend the park side cafe. The steak and eggs is solid and if I'm ever in Bristol CT again and in need of breakfast I'm getting...
