Billy Sims BBQ — Restaurant in Broken Arrow

Billy Simms #20 barbecue... I don’t think Billy would be proud.

To date, this is the second worst barbecue I’ve ever had. Barbecue at Little Rock airport still stands as the worst but this is a close second. The dry rub for the ribs was too salty and the ribs were too dry. The sliced brisket “chunks” were too dry and had never been close to any smoke and had no color. The sausage was Acceptable and had been close to some smoke at one time in the past.

When I first walked in and smelled smoke I thought I had found a barbecue place. I did question the fact that at 6:30 on Wednesday there was only one other person in this restaurant. that should have told me what I needed to know about the up-coming meal. Thankfully they had some decent sauce that I could drench this in. Ironically I drove several miles and passed another two barbecue places because the review from this place same fantastic. Obviously there has been a sea change in food prep at this establishment.

Whoever wrote the "good" reviews on this place, either has poor taste in food, or hasn't been to Billy Sims recently. This place is AWFUL. The environment is ok, but the food is TERRIBLE. The sandwich is scrawny for what you pay for, the food has been sitting out all day, the sausage is some cheap sams club brand with cheese (wtf?) in it..

The side dishes are far from fresh. The cole slaw tasted like it has been sitting in the same pan for a week. I thought it may have been only this Billy Sims in particular, but I also tried the one on 31st and Garnett yesterday and the quality of food was no different (however, I will say that the drive through guy was very friendly and very quick). I used to manage a BBQ restaurant myself, as well as being very picky about my BBQ, as it is one of my favorite foods and I can tell you, save your time and money and go somewhere like Rib Crib. Came for the all you can eat ribs Tuesday paid for 2 adult meals asked for an extra plate so our 5yr old could share off ours, got told we are not allowed to do that we needed to purchase a kids meal.. I mean I understand saying that for an adult or older kids but a 5yr old!? Then when we went up to get a refill on the ribs/sides they put them on ONE plate for myself and husband to SHARE! after throwing that big of a fit over sharing with our child, and paying for 2 adult all u can eat meals we shared it! Then an employee walked around asking if anyone needed refills but ignored us,I guess some retaliation cause I said it was ridiculous over letting a 5yr old eat off our plate... oh and on top of that the ribs weren't as up to par as they...
