On a Saturday evening around 6pm, I stopped by this restaurant with 6 others while celebrating my cousin’s birthday. We just finished the escape room / axe-throwing venue across the street. Apparently, this restaurant has been on her list to visit so we all figured why not.
It was a good weather day but surprisingly the restaurant wasn’t as busy as I would’ve expected. The interior was spacious and there were plenty of staff members available. I liked the upscale appeal of the interior – the tables were made of a marble-type surface with wooden edging, the chairs were fashionable yet comfortable, and there was great lighting throughout. It was windy so we decided to sit inside. Also, the staff were all dressed etiquette, all black presentation (which is something that many industries have done away with). We were sat toward the front, the hosts and server(s) added a table to one of the booths to seat us all.
The service was immediate. As we sat, the server handed out waters and menus for the table while asking if we wanted drinks. As we browsed the large menu, we were nowhere near close to ordering but he checked back with us a couple of times until we ordered drinks. I ordered a large frozen mango margarita while three others ordered 3 similar drinks. After we finished scaling the menu, I initially wanted the Steak Don Jose but someone else ordered before me (and I’m a fan of trying different things) so I ended up asking for the Quesedilla Azteca, one with chicken and one with ground beef. When the food arrived, everything instantly looked fantastic. The plates themselves were huge and each had “devour me” written all over them. To my surprise, the two quesedillas were enormous, taking up most of the entire plate. They were barely closed as they were stuffed with cheese and meat then smothered with more cheese. Each bite was instantly satiating, filling me up but still wanting more. As much as I tried finishing both, I had to ask a to-go box for the rest. By the end, everyone was stuffed. The service was very consistent! When we were done, to-go boxes were brought as plates were being picked up. Though we were a party of 7, the checks were divided appropriately with no issue.
I’m not normally in Broken Arrow but I was overwhelmed with joy that I was able to eat at Mr. Mambo’s while I was there. The service was very attentive from start to finish. The drink was generous, almost never-ending. Great ambiance as well! But the food really is what you want from a Mexican restaurant. The portion size does not compromise the quality. I would enjoy visiting during sundown next time. I would highly recommend this establishment for a stop-in, with a friend or family,...
Read more2pm lunch with my son 08/2017. Dining room was practically vacant and there was not anyone at the door greeting like they're normally would be but that is being kept into consideration since it was after the lunch rush. The gentleman that finally greeted us after about 5 minutes was very nice and very courteous he took us to a nice clean table where we were waited on quickly with chips and salsa. The salsa was extremely good which I was very surprised because the times that I have eaten here before the salsa was about average. The chips were fresh and we had to wait for about 10 minutes before we got our drinks even ordered it seems that there was another table that had two people in it that were female near the back and the male waiter was busy taking care of them I guess. The gentleman that greeted us at the door after the 5 minute wait walked by and saw we had not had our drinks yet but we did have the menus and he asked us if we had order drinks we said no one had help this yet and he continued on back to the back to get us our drinks. Quickly then the waiter came up took our order and we had our food within 10 minutes after that it was hot fresh and the chimichangas with shredded chicken on the inside was very delicious. That was very was very pleasant and it was nice and quiet which made a good afternoon lunch. I think that this is going to be the time that I eat lunch for now on just simply because it was quiet the service was good after the first initial bumpy road but it was worth it. The thing that I can say that I don't particularly care for about mr. Mambo's is that when they give you your portioning they do portion placement very well and you don't get quite as much food as what it appears on the plate so your portioning is a little bit below what I expect for the price but it is very tasty. Again I would have to say for stars and it is worth it. Do not expect to take a drink out or a drink to go because once you pay the bill they won't come back to the table and refill your glass. This is a flaw that I have noticed multiple times that I have been at mr. Mambo's. But that is why they're getting four stars instead of five. So all in all again I'm going to say it is worth it so try it out enjoy like this post and thanks and have a great day enjoy mr. Mambo's.!

Order was 29 something. Girl checking me out asked if I wanted my change. I had given her $40. YES, I want my change. She looked really put out, like I'd deeply wronged her, then went and got someone to get me change. Sorry, but you haven't done anything except take my order. I don't know what qualifies you for a $10 tip. MY BAD. So sorry that hurt you. After getting change back, I gave her a $5 tip. Then I told her where I was parked (literally right in front of the door to the building) and asked for the food I just paid and tipped her for to be delivered to the car.
20 minutes goes by. Wondering what's going on. She's walking around, in and out of the building, waiting on people. It's not busy. She's leisurely walking around and not rushing or anything. I go in and check on the status of my food and see it sitting on the counter... No telling for how long. I guess it just didn't matter that 3 people's lunch was sitting there, getting cold.. $5 tip was too much. Felt like asking for my money back from her, because it was given out of the kindness of my heart. She hadn't actually DONE anything to deserve any sort of tip. So, why reward laziness and garbage service?... But, whatever. I let her keep the tip.
I get my own food off the counter. I bring it back to work.
Of course mine has to be the one with beef artery and tons of fat in the meat. I don't like arteries and fat in my food.
The food smelled like dog food. Was bland. Enchiladas were mush. Probably from sitting on the counter for however long and nobody giving two craps about it, because it didn't affect them directly. Overall very disappointing experience. Will never go back. I make better food at...
