We had a reservation at this restaurant on 10/29/25 for our pre-wedding dinner. TLDR: despite confirming with them multiple times (including physically showing up to the restaurant on 10/28/25), they refused to seat our party of approx. 20 people when we got there for dinner. Their excuse was that (1) no one told them about the reservation and (2) that even if we did have a reservation, the patio was damaged and it was “dangerous to let people out there” because the plastic wind screening was torn… They attempted to seat us in the ice cream parlor next door for dinner. We left and went to Roma Italian across the street, and they were amazing!! More details below.
While physically at the restaurant for dinner, I initially made the reservation around 09/24/25 for a group of 20 people on the patio for dinner on 10/29/25. I called the manager and owner on 10/17/25 to check in and confirm that we were still on, which he assured me we were. I was in BB and decided to stop by on 10/28/25, talked to the staff about our reservation and once again confirmed we were good to go. On 10/29/25, we get there and the cashier and cook refuse to seat us, stating that no one had told them about the reservation. When I informed the cook about the multiple conversations I had with the owner/manager and several employees, she then changed her story to the patio was damaged to the point of being unsafe and they would not let us sit there. Since they wouldn’t seat us on the patio, they had put the rest of our group in the ice cream parlor next door… the patio had no visible damage aside from the plastic wind screening being torn.
Brick and Bread made no attempt to contact me about changing/cancelling the reservation. I gave the cashier my number on 09/24, called the manager directly on 10/17, and gave my number again to the cashier on 10/28. Trying to move the reservation to the ice cream parlor with no effort made to inform us beforehand was also inexcusable. I am not sure why they thought an ice cream store decorated for children and named “Sloppy Pops” would be a suitable alternative for a wedding party??
At best, this was extremely poor communication between their staff. The cook who did most of the speaking when confronted about this was aggressive and unapologetic.
We went to Roma Italian instead and they did an amazing job and handled our last minute group of 20...
Read moreGood food & atmosphere, bad service! We ate here around lunchtime and ordered 2 flatbreads and soup combos. they gave us a buzzer but we waited for over 30 minutes and the buzzer never went off. At one point, I saw our flatbreads and soup sitting on the counter so we waited thinking they were about to call us or just deliver the food. One of the workers took the soup cups and poured them back in the pot and threw out the paper bowls (which is also a health code violation) and then just went about her business waiting for us to pick up the flatbread (but still, our buzzer wasn’t going off). Eventually I got up and asked where it was because they didn’t care to check on us or just deliver the food since it had been sitting there for probably 10 minutes. Also, they had delivered food to the people next to us right before so we thought they would just deliver it (and we were sitting just a few steps from the counter). So the worker said sorry and the buzzer probably wasn’t working but I wish she would have at least called my number out or brought the food over so we knew it was officially done. THEN she poured the wrong soup for both of us. When we asked about it she assumed what we came up there for saying “is that not hot enough for you?” No, you gave us the wrong soup. Then as we ate the flatbread it was cold. We left the store and weren’t even acknowledged either. Cute interior and decent food but the service needs...
Read moreI was hopeful coming to this restaurant as they claimed to offer food made fresh and from scratch. When we got there, half the menu was unavailable, the girl on the desk was spending more time on her phone than serving and clearing dirty dishes from yet expected a tip and the food was frankly processed and pretty disgusting. The restaurant is dirty with food all over the floor and seating filthy. If this is how the restaurant eating areas are kept then I dread to think how the kitchen is. The chicken in my salad was processed and not freshly cooked per my order, my coleslaw tasted ‘turned’ and was like a soup. The bread was also not fresh for the toasty and it all has that cheap, processed food vibe. Lots of canned goods in the kitchen prep area (that’s not ‘fresh’ either). Also slimey, off white mozzarella slices which isn’t right (this is said with credibility as I spend a lot of time in Italy so I know my mozzarella!). We couldn’t eat half of it, it was that bad and are really disappointed and praying we don’t spend all night bringing back up what we did attempt to eat. Not at all as advertised and sad that the chefs can’t make food from fresh (even I can chop the ingredients to make an awesome coleslaw at home, cheaper and better for you than the processed rubbish they served). C’mon guys, where’s the pride in your food gone? This was well below average and you guys have clearly lost the love for...
