I was there yesterday, They just do not care anymore at the Danbury Location. The place smelled horrible, The peanuts were gross It seems there are still peanuts in there from opening day, They can't throw them out and start new?.. 25 cases of peanuts worth of dust in one box. The owner needs to fire everyone, close the place for 2 days, CLEAN IT WITH BLEACH and DEGREASER, And have a grand re-opening. If I do not hear that this is done, I shall never return. I will drive to the Wapingers/ Fishkill Five Guys if I crave Five Guys, but this was a crappy diner at best. 2 Burgers 1 Fry and 1 drink costs $24, I demand excellence for that kind of money. The young girl their was friendly, but the rest of the staff had a Sour Face Grimace I am happy I did not bring an elderly person or child to eat yesterday, It could have killed them. I , much like the person reviewing before me, had gone to the bathroom, RAN to the bathroom 3 times 1 hour after the meal.. And still feel sick today. I only rate places I find fantastic on Google , If a place is 4 stars or2 stars they are all the same, THIS is my first review based on PURE DISGUST. I wish I read the other reviews before I went.. Not because I'd have $24 extra, But because I feel this is DANGEROUS . I owned a Business in Harlem for years, If I did that to people they would torch my place to the ground. I did not ask for a refund, The money is not important to me.. If this place was even hanging on to "OK" by a thread I would not review it, but it is the Grand Prize Winner of the "HORRENDO AWARD" . A street vendor in NYC with dirty hands and no gloves would provide a better dining experience. 1 Burger had no toppings, One Burger had only Pickles and A1, and the bacon was hard as a rock, So I think they might be Microwaving it? How do you mess up bacon on a griddle? If I had more topping I might be in the emergency room. Neglect like this BLANKETS the whole establishment to the point where thinking something will be ok is a Delusion. I didn't even take more than 1 sip of the soda, Neither burger was finished and maybe 4 fries were eaten between us, AND I STILL GOT SICK. 2 People, may I add Got sick, So the plain double cheeseburger was also bad. Someone tell the Franchise owner, To get off the beach in BOCA, and fly in to see your establishment, do not announce it, Go in secret, order a burger and have Danbury Hospital on speed dial, before someone with a compromised immune system dies of food born pathogen, or staph infection from the uncleaned dining room. The Mop they use, needs to be changed, I don't think they mop , but if it's an old mop that is worse than not mopping. Spreading 3 year old colonies of germs around. Pretty funny years ago it was the COLONIAL DINER.. Now it is home to Bacteria Colonies. I stand by my review, My name is above, If the owner wishes to contact me, I can provide my receipts and track record of regular attendance. If I was with the CT board of health, I would have called in Back Up, off duty or on duty before a person dies, or an OUTBREAK spreads on the name of FIVE GUYS.. Go to Fishkill, The place is Meticulous, The food is perfect, The people are friendly, and That is how Five Guys should be remembered. Danbury should hire the FRY COOK of Fishkill to be the manager, If he doesn't vomit at the stench of Danbury on arrival. If you think this review is long, I am laying in bed sick with my wife. I have the remaining burger wrapped in case it gets worse and We need to hire an Attorney.. The Alka seltzer helped, but I will not go out anywhere in case the 30 second to bathroom or doom feeling persists. I hope this misery passes. FIX YOUR PLACE OR SHUT IT DOWN, You have no business being in the food business if you knowingly allow this to continue. If I hear you are in the location daily, You should be ashamed of yourself, and you lack of basic...
Read moreI'm sorry but if i was the owner of this place i'd want to know this from a customer. Especially a dining establishment. I ordered then went to the restroom to wash my hands before eating. The walls in the bathroom were so disgusting that i didn't want to touch anything. As if the walls were never cleaned. Luckily the hand towel machine was automatic so i didn't have to touch the lime scaled, hard water dirty sink or dirty doorknobs. Then while my order was being prepared, i figured i'd use those nifty soda fountains they have that has every flavor of hi c that i originally had a taste for initially which brought me there. I was greeted with a dirty soda machine that was just run down and barely dispensed ice. So i grabbed my top and straw for the soda and looked to throw the straw wrapper in the garbage but would not dare to touch the dirtiest, stickiest garbage can I've seen in a while so i left the wrapper by the malt vinegar. Yuck. The guy who took my order and money put on a glove and proceeded to place other customers buns on the grill. as he was waiting, he kindly coughed into his plastic glove and went on handling food. Then i get my order and look for a clean table but couldn't find one amongst the peanut shells covering the entire floor. ALL OVER THE STORE! Mind you this is five pm. Then i get my order. The burger was great however the fries were overcooked not quite burned but almost there. Other folks were walking around trying to find clean tables. We were all looking at each other in shock. As soon as i got up to leave, a couple ran to my table and sat there instead of the dirty others. Don't get me wrong the staff was nice. I've never called comment line in my life but felt the need to today and did. Now I'm sitting home waiting for my stomach to start bubbling. sorry guys this...
Read moreConsistently outstanding. But in my opinion, way too expensive. For a cheeseburger with grilled onions, lettuce and tomato, small fries, and no drink just free water, cost me $19 and change. That's ridiculous. But it's good as it is. It's three times more expensive at least then you'd spend at McDonald's.
The lettuce was pale and didn't too "super fresh" and green. Lost one star for that.
So consider this a special treat.
The facility in Brookfield, Connecticut on Federal Road is very spacious and even though I was there about 1:30 in the afternoon there were only one or two other customers there. The place was spotless. It was cold, even though it was 76° outside it was freezing inside. I had to look around for a spot that would be as far away from an air conditioning vent as possible but I found it.
The staff was very attentive, and very friendly as you'll see from the pictures.
I've been to five guys before but it's been probably maybe 10 years since I've been to one, and that was in Colorado.
I went to the Shake Shack outside of the Danberry mall about two years ago, and I said quality was equivalent, but I don't remember what the prices were at the Shake Shack.
Most notably, as you'll see from some of my pictures the menu on the ordering area add calories listed, but not prices. Understandably so.
I would definitely recommend this place for its quality food, cleanliness and very friendly staff, but consider your budget when you make a decision...
