Savers — Local services in Brookfield

I've found some amazing items in Savers and the store is one of the better ones in the area, but it is not without its pitfalls. I've seen clothing for as much as $400.00 on the racks, which is ridiculous because Savers is for profit and does not directly benefit any charity. The staff is spotty at times, sometimes they are decent and other times they are too focused on socializing. Savers claims to carefully inspect items for damage, but I often find items that are riddled with holes and tears and have no business being for sale. Recently they stopped offering plastic bags, and now charge .05 for a paper bag whose structural integrity is questionable. Savers is the only retailer in the area to charge for bags and the only other option they offer is buying a reusable bag which frankly looks so small that it only looks large enough to hold a...

First the good stuff: staff were friendly, conversant, and informed me of the return policy. There is a wide variety of merchandise that is well organized. The store is clean and bright. The prices are very reasonable. I found what I was looking for and more.

Caveats: the isles between clothing racks and domestics are too narrow to allow more than one person to comfortably shop or push a cart. The shelves that are used to display things like glassware and kitchen items are overcrowded in some places, which makes it difficult to see what is available and/or to find what you are looking for. The rack where women’s activewear is displayed has a mishmash of sports bras and tops with spaghetti straps which get entangled and make it time consuming to sort through.

As a teen myself, all the teens/young adults working the night of 12/28 were extremely rude. I overheard two employees talking about costumers and saying various rude things, such as “none of these ** even listened” after she had went around the store yelling that they were closing in 15 minutes. Another young lady constantly glared at me and was aggressively throwing clothes into carts. I’ve worked multiple service jobs and i get having a bad day, but there were 3+ employees with horrible attitude. Being low energy and tired is one thing, but treating the workplace like it’s high school makes an extremely uncomfortable experience for costumers. All those employees...
