I have only eaten here once, but the experience was exceptional. This was one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever eaten at anywhere, and definitely the best South Indian restaurant I have eaten at.
The menu is large without being overwhelming. Keep in mind though, some of the menu is more specifically South Indian than others; there are also quite a few of the more typical North Indian dishes that are probably provided because they are more widely-known among a general audience.
Probably my favorite item on the menu and what I would recommend is the Veg or Non Veg Thali, which is like an assortment of different items that comes with several different types of flatbread. It is probably the most authentic South Indian experience you can get, and I noticed that most of the Indian people eating here either ordered those items, or ordered the Dosa. But our group did order two of the North Indian items as well and they were both excellent too, so this place seems to do everything well.
Service was very good. The waiter was also very good at explaining things to us that were unfamiliar.
The main thing that I dislike about this restaurant is its location. It's not really near where I live, and furthermore it's located in an entirely car-oriented area that is unpleasant to be in and unpleasant to drive to. I also found their website annoyingly slow to respond, which is a pain if you are wanting to look up something about the menu. It's 2023, there is literally no good excuse for a slow website. That is also really frustrating. But I'm willing to forgive these two points and still give 5 stars because the restaurant itself was so...
Read moreI frequent this restaurant because in my opinion there isn't another South Indian restaurant with better food in Delaware. Where they fall short is in service. At lunch time, there is just one person working. This restaurant does a lot of phone orders, and the lady who doubles as waitress is often glued to the phone. Consequently you sit there forever to get service. One thing that really upset me today was that they have started cutting lemon into 1/8ths. I have never in my life seen that restaurants. The pieces are so small, it's difficult to squeeze any juice out of them. They must have felt it's a great way to save a few pennies, but I tell you, it really takes the pleasure out of eating your meal. For a long time, their sink faucet in the men's room was splashing water everywhere, but after one year of complaining about it, they finally fix it. Thank you! I go to Aha for the food. To put it charitably, the ambiance is poor. Paint is literally peeling off the walls. The carpet hasn't been washed in years. It should actually be replaced with vinyl flooring! The chairs are new, but are garden variety cheap. The music videos are loud, and seem to be on a loop playing the same song over and over. The temperature in the restaurant is always colder than I feel comfortable, but they are kind enough to adjust it, when asked. They close between 3:00 and 5:30, and are closed on Tuesdays. I have ordered many of the items on their menu. I have loved every one of them. I...
Read moreVisited Aha Indian Cuisine yesterday on their grand 1st year anniversary day for lunch buffet. They served lunch on Aritaaku ( Banana leaf ) which is traditional South Indian way. In a systematic way they served various vegetarian items one after another. Part of vegetarian options they served banana bajji, welcome drink, roti, bottle guard curry, ridgeguard curry, tomato gravy for roti, tomato dal, potato fry, cucumber chutney, spicy coconut powder, 3 special rices( tomato kuskus rice, veg pullav, telugu special avakaya rice), sambar, rasam, curd, payasam, special cova burfi. After finishing lunch they served sweet pan which was awesome. All vegetarian food served was tasty and I cannot comment on non veg as we are vegetarian. But few people mentioned non veg tasty too. Finally they gave every family a surprise muni sweet box.
Due to heavy crowd, they adjusted tables accordingly which doesn't give real formal dining feel in the extension room but given the special day its ok. End of the day, we are looking for quality food right....
Definitely we will visit again on normal days and provide...
