This restaurant shows the signs of a restaurant struggling and circling the toilet bowl. No update to their website in over a year, and therefore they are listing outdated specials as current information. They claim they no longer had a vendor to handle their website. The menus are outdated, the waiters have to check if what you want on their menu is something they still can serve.
Plastic cutlery after Covid restrictions are lifted, this looks cheap on the part of the restaurant. For $40 dollar a plate we ate with plastic forks. No chopsticks of any kind in a Japanese restaurant, which goes against Buddhist practices.
They didn't even offer the dipping sauces, and when we asked the chef said “oh, sorry” and took the empty dipping plates back for apparent use at another table. When asked they said they don't offer the dipping sauces because most patrons throw them away, but we were not asked if we wanted them at all.
We waited a long time for service, our drink refills were delayed to the point we ran out, no one came to ask us if everything is ok or checked on us through the meal. We went at a quiet time of the night with a lot of open tables so it wasn't that the time we went was busy and the staff was overwhelmed.
My fiancé's impression was hibachi chef’s performance was listless. They did the routine things of the onion volcano, the shrimp toss, the egg spin on the spatula.
Avoid this place! There are too many negative signs we avoided. I was offered a coupon for use on a future visit, but I like my local friends more than to invite them...
Read moreThis place is horrible, my partner is vegan so we notify both the waitress and cook ordering. Waitress was very nice about it but in the notes VEGAN no butter, all my partner can order is rice without egg, noodles without egg and veggies NO BUTTER. The cook comes out starts cooking we have to stop him multiple times from putting eggs or butter in the rice, he starts cooking the veggies puts all the meats touching the veggies and is using the same utensil to flip everything so we notify him of his actions and he doesn’t understand what he has done wrong. Finally the manager comes out with the menu and is arguing with us that my partner shouldn’t even be getting vegetables with his rice and noodles even though the menu states rice with egg and vegetables, noodles with egg and vegetables. Which is false advertisement as there were no veggies included in the rice it was just plain white rice with soy sauce and the noodles are just fettuccine noodles. My meal in the menu stated it was to include signature sauces but wasn’t offered and dipping sauces like the traditional yum yum or ginger sauce. The cooks attitude was horrible but it’s understandable as the manager had the same mentality. We did not go at a busy time or day there was only us and another couple so the fact that he couldn’t make accommodations to allergies is unacceptable and the false advertisement on the menu we will be filing a case...
Read moreThis is really 2 services being rated. But first the decor, outdated and underwhelming, almost sad feeling...seems to be the way with most Japanese restaurants for some reason so let's move on. We had a 30 min wait for a table, we did not have reservations so that was expected. We tried to order an appetizer while we waited, twice the server said he would be right with us but never took our order. Once we finally tracked him down, and my slightly irritated wife placed an order, he actually mocked her as he was walking away. The guy was a jerk. We were seating at the hibachi grill before the edemame ever made it out. Once at the grill things made a turn for the better. Our cook was personable enough and had a good sense of humor. He did the standard show but put his own spin on them once or twice. But I thought his cooking was the winner here. Everything was cooked very well, we had every protein imaginable, cooked from med rare to well done, and he delivered each plate perfectly. Well seasoned and portioned, and attentive to any special requests. I didn't catch his name but I think the receipt said Sahed. If we would not of had the first server experience, this would have been a 4...
