I recently had the pleasure of dining at Great Scotts Eatery in Broomfield, and I must say, it's a unique place in the city. Here's my four-star review:
Pros:
Nostalgic Atmosphere: Great Scotts Eatery is a true throwback to the classic diners of the past. The decor, music, and overall atmosphere instantly transport you to a bygone era. It's a delightful experience for those looking to relive some nostalgia.
Boomer-Focused Menu: They cater specifically to the boomer crowd, and it's evident in their menu choices. From traditional breakfast options like eggs and bacon to hearty sandwiches and milkshakes, they offer what many in this demographic crave.
Friendly Service: The staff at Great Scotts are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They seem genuinely invested in providing a pleasant dining experience, which adds to the overall charm of the place.
Generous Portions: The portions here are generous, and you definitely get your money's worth. Whether it's a classic burger or a stack of pancakes, you won't leave hungry.
Cons:
Limited Appeal: While the nostalgic charm and boomer-focused menu are appealing to a specific demographic, it may not be everyone's cup of tea. If you're looking for a more contemporary dining experience or a diverse menu, this might not be the place for you.
Future Sustainability: As mentioned, Great Scotts is heavily reliant on its boomer customer base. It remains to be seen how they will adapt to changing demographics in the future. It would be wise for them to consider broadening their appeal to ensure long-term success.
In conclusion, Great Scotts Eatery in Broomfield is a delightful spot for those seeking a nostalgic diner experience and a menu tailored to the boomer generation. While it may not have mass appeal, it's worth a visit for the atmosphere, friendly service, and classic diner fare. I hope they can find a way to remain relevant in the changing...
Read moreIf I could give this place negative stars I would give it a negative 5 stars... 1st of all don't be a female when you walk in here. Because you will not get acknowledged... servers name was Esmerelda...Ordering drinks and she talks to the male..trying to order food didn't even try talking to me nor look was talking straight to male component and doesn't serve your drinks/food dish to you either once again serves it to the male component... hashbrowns undercooked, biscuits & toast not even a slight shade of brown toasted... order an over easy egg? Get ready for medium egg... also peppers & onions cooked with the hashbrown.. well Hash browns are not cooked so don't expect sautéed with it cause you're getting them raw... my order was Hash browns sauteed with onions and greenbell peppers, 1overeasy egg,one biscuit & gravy & mimosa... Also asked for 2 to go boxes and male has small plate small 4 pieces of bacon And I took one bite of my order and said absolutely not this food will be passed on to the homeless guy down the road... She comes back with one regular box and hands it to the male who has four strips of bacon which is why he asked for a small box.... Service here is absolutely disgusting food also equally disgusting. Also the girl at the table next to us hadn't even ordered anything absolutely nothing Literally just barely sat down and they are bringing her plates/ drinks, she corrected them telling them that she didn't even order yet.... Which was obvious because she still had the menu in front of her.. which means that someine else is waiting even longer for their food... That is if their food is being remade because you know cross contamination... Anyways point being don't waste your time or money here... Also as walking out i told the table next to us not to even bother ordering that she should leave while she can before she actually orders...
Read moreLordy, talk about a cool hidden gem right under your nose, and it's locally owned people. The ambiance is nostalgic once you walk in Great Scott's Eatery. The first impression is delightful by the crew and eared us promptly by one of the owners. Greeted Skippy as 6 the last few places we had Karen issues. Wyatt greeted us and sat down right away. He was very friendly and nice to all his customers right off. I asked him if they had chocolate shakes & luckily for me they did. Wyatt was so polite and didn't mind us asking so many questions. Before I forget, his T-shirts were really cool. On the front is Great Scott's logo on the front pocket area, but the back you have choices of Elvis, Marilyn, Jane's Dean, Betty Boop logos with their age they died too cool. OK, back to the food, we both ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich with Hula Hoops (onion rings). The first rhe chocolate shake was so delicious and big you could share if you would like. The sandwich arrived with all the veggies and 6 big ole onion rings with a tasty crunchy hot pork tenderloin with yummy flavor town feel. Wyatt was very attentive and made people feel so comfortable that it suits his personality. If you're in the area, don't drive by, stop give them a chance you won't regret it. It is one of the cleanest and friendliest family restaurants you need to try!Support your local restaurants and not chains. Big Shiut Out to Wyatt, thank you for finding us some of your establishment t-shirts as we loved the style. I got Elvis, don't do it haters, my brother got Marilyn and they rock. You need to see the design to understand or buy some like we did. Support locally owned family...
