I ordered the bean and cheese burrito with cheese and medium Chile inside. Their beans were flavorless and the pinto beans weren't fully cooked. The part that was mashed was watered down. You could tell there was no salt or seasoning. The cheese was also a bland barely melted thin sprinkle of the bagged Mexican cheese you'd get in a grocery store. The Chile had no spice and only small bits of green Chile. The tortillas were thin and hard, not like in a good fried kind of way, but like they'd been sitting out for a day. I sent it back. This is a small Mexican restaurant with a very authentic feel to it inside. The enchilada plate I ordered was very filling and also quite tasty. The serving size was gigantic the way Mexican dishes should be served! Taking off one star though because the enchiladas and beans were a bit too lightly salted and you don't get tortilla chips w/salsa before your big meal like at many Mex restaurants in the area and across the country. Being raised on Mexican food I need to have the right amount of saltiness no matter how bad it is for my health. This is a little gem of a restaurant with a big menu, and an even bigger dedication to making great Mexican food. I love the salsa, I love the guacamole, the chile rellenos, the birria, the tacos, the chicken burritos… the everything! Because every dish is as good as the last, and every order is fulfilling and delicious. This is real, authentic, genuine Mexican food.
