Discovering Rock City Pie and Ice was a true delight! Nestled in the heart of our community, this gem offers not just food, but an exceptional dining experience that resonates with warmth and friendliness. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere enveloped me in a cozy embrace, making it clear that this place is more than just an eatery; it's a gathering spot for friends, families, and food lovers alike.

Service here goes beyond expectations. The staff at Rock City Pie and Ice are genuinely kind and attentive, contributing to a welcoming environment that makes every visit memorable. Their recommendations were spot-on, ensuring that each bite was a journey of discovery and pleasure.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the food. The pies and ice cream are nothing short of phenomenal. Each pie, a masterpiece of flavors, combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative twists that tantalize the taste buds. The crusts are perfectly flaky, and the fillings are rich and satisfying, clearly made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. The ice cream, a creamy delight, offers a perfect balance of sweetness and texture, making it impossible to have just one scoop.

Rock City Pie and Ice is a testament to what passionate cooking and a love for community can create. It's a must-visit for locals and travelers alike, offering a taste of home while introducing flavors that are fresh and exciting. This is not just a place to eat; it's a destination to experience joy, comfort, and the best pies and ice cream you'll ever have.

In summary, Rock City Pie and Ice earns a well-deserved five stars for its outstanding food, exceptional service, and the vibrant community atmosphere it nurtures. Whether you're craving a slice of pie that feels like a hug or a scoop of ice cream to brighten your day, this is the place to be. A visit here is a reminder of the simple pleasures in life, served with a side of impeccable hospitality. Highly...

A Disappointing Mountain of Blandness

I approached my pizza order with eager anticipation, the menu promising a symphony of flavors with its generous array of toppings. However, upon the first bite, it was clear that this pizza was a tragic misfire.

The sheer volume of toppings was overwhelming, creating a chaotic jumble that obscured any potential harmony. Each slice was a mountainous expedition through a terrain of competing ingredients, none of which managed to stand out. It was as if the pizza had been conceived as a visual spectacle rather than a culinary experience.

Beneath this avalanche of toppings lay a crust that was begging for attention. It was a bland canvas, devoid of character or flavor, and seemed to have been an afterthought in the pizza-making process. The foundation of any great pizza is its crust, and this one was a colossal failure.

Perhaps the most egregious offense was the scarcity of sauce. A pizza without a robust, flavorful sauce is like a painting without color. This pizza was a pale imitation, with a mere whisper of sauce that failed to bind the ingredients together or provide any semblance of balance.

To make matters worse, the entire pizza was drenched in a greasy film that left an unpleasant aftertaste. Each bite was a slippery, oily ordeal that did little to enhance the overall experience. It was as if the kitchen staff had mistaken the pizza for a deep-dish fry.

In the end, this pizza was a colossal disappointment. It was a textbook example of style over substance, a pizza that prioritized quantity over quality. It is a prime illustration of how a plethora of toppings cannot compensate for a lack of flavor and execution.

I cannot emphasize enough how disheartening it was to encounter such a substandard pizza. It is a disservice to pizza lovers everywhere, and I sincerely hope that the establishment takes this review as a wake-up call to prioritize taste and balance in their...

  • Editing my review to up this to 5 stars *

Have had this a couple times since the initial review and while I still feel their sauce is a little bland every other critique I previously had of it has been amended. Great place, love their pizza order it all the time.

** Done with edit *

I really want to give this a five stars but, while excellent, I can’t. I’m a pretty big pizza aficionado, will go out of my way for it. Have travelled for it. Most of my reviews are for pizza.

So again, while excellent something was missing from keeping it a 5. I’m pretty sure it was the sauce and they went REAL heavy on the cheese. This might just be personal preference too. I’m an “easy on the cheese” kinda person. Their sauce though, it was pretty bland and somewhat watery. I think it was an uncooked sauce but was hard to tell after it was already on the pie. Like most Detroit’s, it was applied after the pizza was out of the oven. It wasn’t heated at all though, which is my second biggest complaint.

The pizza as a whole was still fantastic though. Their pepperonis were on point, crisped and cupped perfectly. It was loaded with them. There were even larger pepperonis underneath. If anything it was almost too much.

Their cheese blend was on point. The mozz, provolone, Wisconsin brick cheese blend crusted perfectly around a he dough giving it the signature Detroit style edge. Dough was a bit heavy but it’s a thick crust pizza so that was expected. Some are heavier some are lighter.

This is hands down the best pizza in the Broomfield area though so definitely give them your business. I’m just a pizza snob who loves pizza, loves to find it, loves baking it (IG:...

This pizza rocked my face harder than Bob Seger’s Farewell tour. Read the rest for a full recap of my Detroit Style Culinary Extravaganza. Oft imitated but rarely perfected, the Detroit style deep dish pizza is the ultimate indulgent form of the classic cheese, sauce, dough combo we’ve all come to love. Light yet dense. Crispy yet soft. Over-the-top but still approachable. It’s truly the perfect medley of juxtaposed flavors and experiences. Rock City Pie and Ice takes all the best aspects of a perfect Detroit-style pie and cranks it to 11 with carefully curated toppings and flavor combinations that could only come from a classically trained chef. Intrigued by all the options I opted for the pep bacon which features crispy, cuppy & large round pepperoni, smoked bacon, Brick & Fresh Mozzarella, Parmesan, basil and tomato sauce. My first bite was a euphoric experience that hit all my senses full blast. First my nose was tantalized by a medley of fresh basil, tangy tomatoes and salty meats. Then my hands felt the crispy crunchy yet light and airy dough. My eyes then widened as the generously topped pizza got close to my mouth. My ears rang with delight as I crunched down on the perfectly firm yet airy dough. Then my tastebuds went crazy when the array of flavors and textures came together to form something more beautiful than Bob and The Silver Bullet band. The next 78 bites were just as good as the first. Suffice it to say this pizza was more than eating. It was a full body experience I constantly crave. If you truly want to get rocked by your next pizza order you gotta give Rock City Pie & Ice a try.
