Their hours are 5am-8pm, unless they feel differently day of. Went there for a mother's day treat. Arrived at 11:53am, and they were out of donuts and closing down completely for the day. I didn't think to call ahead before making this special 30 minute trip because their hours clearly state they are 5am-8pm, not 5am-until we sell out of donuts. Could they have stayed open to sell their drinks...well I guess not. I have also visited a different Jack's donuts, we got there after 3pm and found they still had a good selection. Therefore, I wasn't worried about calling ahead this time to make sure they were open because, outside their posted hours online, surely they prepared for a special holiday and would still have donuts this early in the day compared to the last time I visited one. Nope. They said, "we didn't realize we would be so busy and ran out". When I asked why they didn't make more they simple responded, "We didn't expect to be so busy. Boss said we could go home." Along with something about bakers not in at the moment. We didn't expect every flavor to be on stock but to be completely out and shutting down, we did not expect that.
Will we visit this Jack's donuts again, no. Will we visit a different Jacks donuts, maybe. Their donuts are worth a try and worth the hype. I would just suggest not this location if you can avoid it. I only say this because I shared this story over the day with a handful of people and they all said this is a common thing with this location.
Am I upset with a donut shop shutting down once they sell out of donuts? No. As long as it's stated with their hours. This location does...
Read moreThe donuts and pastries are good quality. This location has 2 problems. #2 - the donuts are overpriced. The donuts cost about $14-15 for a dozen. And you don't even get a bakers dozen (13) which most donuts shops do. Krispy kreme and Dunkin donuts tried to sell a dozen donuts for $10 and their strategy failed. I will not pay that for a dozen and neither will most people. #1 - the biggest problem is bad management and lack of business accumen. I only go there to buy apple fritters. Over 50% of the time I go there for that item they are sold out! It doesn't matter what time of day I go, I could go at 1 pm or 9-10 am and the result is the same. I went at 10:40 am today 10/4/2020 and the entire store was sold out of everything!! They had nothing left to sell!! And they had no intention of making more!! A restaurant with no food to sell!! Great idea! You can take that business model and open up countless other businesses with your genius!! A car dealership with no cars! An office supply store with no office supplies! A gas station with no gas! I have an idea for you - when you run out of something, make more of it!!! When sell out of something consistently, increase your production/supply the next time!!!! It's called supply and demand you morons!!! It's the basics of capitalism and economics!!! Well I'm tired of it and I will not patronize your establishment any more. You have lost me as a customer...
Read moreWow! This is the best Jack's I've been to and definitely in the tops for donut shops.
The service was so good. They talk about donut selection with kids, have a better selection than most, and make a surprisingly good boba.
Blueberry cake donut holes are amazing.
I don't often give chain restaurants 5-stars, but this location definitely does better at customer care than most, if not all, of the older bakeries I've been to.
My only concern is that, while Jack's does offer a somewhat rare-to-the-bakery-world seating area, this location might have difficulty hosting groups of 5 or more who are hoping for a meeting. This is because they have more linear seating than circular seating.
All-in-all, this place is well ahead of other Jack's in service, quality craftsmanship, and personality, and it definitely should be on your next bakery run, especially if you are bringing the kids, need a lot, or a large variety.
But seriously, Blueberry cake donut holes. So good, but call ahead for availability. If not available, the regular Blueberry donuts...
