As I write this, this is a tie for the worst experience with a Mexican restaurant I've ever had. (So long as I dont get violently and near fatally sick, it'll get the ranking of 2nd worst.) When I walked in and saw there were only 5 customers and 8 waitstaff members, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, after waiting for 35 minutes those hopes were long gone.
By the time the single dish that was ordered arrived, I had lost all interest in eating. I picked at it for 5 or so minutes, asked for a box, paid my check and left. Could have saved myself time and gotten a better meal for half the cost and in 1/10th the time by stopping at Taco Bell instead. Relayed the overall experience to hostess and she was very apologetic but didn't offer any resolution.
Took home the leftovers hoping that while they were still warm that someone at home would want them and the only one interested was the trashcan. Luckily there are two more sit down Mexican places in Brownsburg or I'd have to drive to Avon.
Update Tried them again after 8 years. No change in the speed of service. 8 customers including my party of 3 with 4 servers working the 4 tables. Food is still 1.5x the cost of other local Mexican restaurants for the same items and no better quality. They're currently at 7th for Mexican restaurants in the Brownsburg area including making the food at home...
Read moreWe decided out of a whim to go to Tequila Sunrise in Brownsburg, assuming it was an El Toro type of restaurant...we were happily mistaken. :-) Tequila Sunrise is "next level" Mexican cuisine. On arrival, the server immediately had chips and salsa at our table even before we were able to get seated. Alejandro was amazingly attentive and was on high alert in case we needed anything. My daughters were being their usual crazy selves, but he maintained exceptional professional demeanor and very efficiently took our orders. He would periodically give us updates on the status of our order, which was refreshing. Our meals were delivered promptly and we were not disappointed. I had the Mole Enchiladas and my wife had the Caribbean Tilapia. These dishes were so beautiful that we didn't want to disturb the canvas, but we were hungry and dug in. Wow...AMAZING, and so fulfilling! Needless to say, I had to shake Alejandro's hand, not only for the superior service, but also for the most amazing Mexican dish that I've ever tasted. Put them at the top of your list for dining next time out...you will not be disappointed. :-) Oh, I forgot to mention that we had the Fried Ice Cream for dessert (pictured) and it...
Read moreJust left Tequila Sunrise a couple hours ago. They no longer provide MENUS, you have to scan a thing on the table, go to their website to see their menu. Too much work just to have a dinner out. I guess the older folks with no smart phone are SOL!! I did scan it but either the internet wasn’t working or their website wasn’t. We left our drinks and chips on the table and went down the road to spend our money. I appreciate the attempt to be germ free, but maybe print disposable menus on paper if it’s that big a deal. After all we’re still taking a chance drinking out of the glass they touched, eating food someone had to prepare. Really just rubbed me the wrong way thinking that my parents would not be able to order there. They don’t have smart phones. Oh well, I hope all restaurants don’t cave in to the paranoia. It’s more or less enter at your own risk no matter where you go these days. It should be my choice if I decide to eat there. I’ll take my chances handling a menu & then use my hand sanitizer when I’m done. Ok, rant over. Offering no alternative is not a good way to...
