Las Palmas Bakery — Restaurant in Brownsville

Why is this place still hiring staff that gives horrible customer service? We stopped by last night and the girl that was mopping and closing was extremely rude. I am not going to even bother in going into details but if you want to feel like you’re hated and not welcomed at a place, that your mere presence is disturbing….. then go to la Palma bakery. Was disappointed with the selection and quality. Went after 5pm & it looked like the bread had been sitting all day. I would have rather had less selection and fresher bread. Plus, the attendant didn't even double check that all the doors were closed correctly & I saw a fly in a display case (I did not get any bread from that case). I ended up with only four pieces of bread & got out of there.

This Bakery is an ol locals favorite. It's been around longer than I have. Every morning you'd be able to smell the breads baking down the blvd! Now of course they expanded their business and it's in a new building just down the street from where they used to be. The location is nicer and with nicer upgrades comes pricier baked goods. Although breads are still just as good as they ever were... the price hike has me frequenting Sarita's Bakery & Cake Shop instead... its hard to beat Sarita's 25 cent...
