Macayo's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Buckeye

Was hoping for an excellent sit down restaurant on our first visit. It is more of an Americanized take out style absolutely no ambiance box style take out with way too few seats in a way to small building . It's one step below taco bell . The portions are on the small size and the prices on the. High size. We decided on take out not into sitting in a plain old take out style plain old location. Nothing special average at best tasting food. The pictures make the food look better than the taste you get. This is nothing more than someone's idea to copy the typical McDonald's Burger King style building. If you want authentic Mexican style sit down restaurant do yourself and family a favor and take a ride to dysart in Avondale to Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant for excellent chefs authentic comfortable ambience where you get much bigger portions for your money. Better tasting authentic food and everything is hot and fresh and cooked by a chef who knows what they are doing. When you walk in it's a real sit down Mexican style restaurant. When you sit there you go ah this is nice wish it was closer to buckeye but it's well worth the trip. You earn dollars off on your take out with your phone number every time you take out. The food is so much better than MACAYO'S average Americanized style cafeteria style take out . Fajitas steaks that is cut like beef stew chunks instead of strips. It's fake Mexican style probably owned by some American company looking for big returns on over priced food. Is it good? It's plain average overpriced food that's just ok. You get more flavor at Taco Bell. MACAYO'S has a lager menu at way higher prices . Same style box restaurants with seats scattered around the room which is totally open with zero privacy. Not excellent at all. Typical take out style more fast food like on every point. If the cut their price in half on every menu item it would not change the review. Blah setup no privacy anywhere in the place. Will be going back to dysart after hoping MACAYO'S was something special. It's typical not special. This whole area on Indian school and jackrabbit still has not one authentic real sit down restaurant. They have no clue how to set up a new area. Luckily we are close to LITCHFIELD park and dysart . Hoping the Costco area has real sit down restaurants when is built. MACAYO'S is a money maker for people who accept less and pay more to save a trip to real sit down restaurants . Will not be coming here if rather eat Mexican in a can watching television from home instead of throwing away $75 to feed 3 people with cafeteria style Mexican wanna be style mush. Sorry was hoping for a really great place. Not this location. If you Plain Jane American style Mexican at exorbitant American prices you'll love this place 3 minutes from the house and food had no heat whatsoever and all need reheat especially the pizza looked like it sat for a half hour. FIESTA MEXICANA IS A GO TO RESTAURANT WHERE YOU GET WHat YOU PAY FOR AND MORE. It's decorated as a Mexican sit down ambiance. MACAYO'S is a joke on overpriced everything. Service was long for such a small venue. Macayos made a huge mistake in making such a small restaurant. We were there on a Monday before 4pm and were lucky to aquire a table. We watched customer after customer leave due to long wait times. There were three busers and they could not turn tables fast enough. The only person capable was our server Kaylee but she couldn't take on the whole restaurant. We are saddened by the whole experience. We told corporate they made a huge mistake in the size of the establishment, they should have been celebrating the largest Macayos not the smallest. Sad very sad. After posting this review the manager came out and asked us to leave the establishment, I told him he was SOL, I paid my bill and will sit here until I finish my drink, he threatened to call police, I invited him to do so. I have done nothing wrong. He asked us not to talk to the help the way we did , I asked how was that, he said it did not matter any more and to just leave the restaurant, again I told him he does not get to decide when I should leave. All this because I wrote a poor review. It's a sorry day when a woke management can't take an honest review. He was nowhere to be found until I wrote the review. Extremely Disappointing Experience at this location of Macayos. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent dining experience at Macayos in Litchfield Park/Verrado. This restaurant was once a favorite, but this visit was truly abysmal. The service was incredibly poor. We went for a Sunday evening dinner. There were only about 4 tables in the restaurant occupied. From our arrival there were NO staff on the floor not even the bartender. This was about 70% of our visit. The employees were in the back. Our server (Swift) did not listen and completely disregarded our requests after several repeat requests. She even slammed a plate of limes on the table, making us feel like an inconvenience. The food quality was also unacceptable. The chips were undercooked, the rice was hard, and the entire meal was cold and not fresh! To make matters worse, the staff seemed completely indifferent to our concerns. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made. I will not be returning to this location in the foreseeable future.
