Of every place i've eaten, the service here was the worst. To start, the wait was 30 minutes, and we watched tables open and new customers come in. That was a little frustrating and weird but we all shrugged it off. The food was delicious, but the problem lies in the waiters. Not only did they forget about someone at our table but the male server was constantly raising his voice at us and being just awful The ENTIRE TIME. The female waiter at first didn't believe most of us were 21 and argued with us despite having multiple ID'S proving the obvious. then at the end, they forced a 20$ tip which was argivating because after this god awful experience they didn't even deserve $10. Also we wanted to split and the male server who handled the check said yes earlier but then later combined everything and refused to split. While we were trying to dispute our check the guy kept rudely grabbing the paper back and forth and not listening to anything. At this point I was genuinely mad. Rarely, EVER will i be upset at a food service employee. Ontop of that, when we stood up to dispute it, tabel 1 in the front were talking about us and being nosey and rude and acting as though we did something wrong. It was not welcoming. Usually i'd say food service always deserve respect and patience as food service employees have a very rough job with all the Karens out there, but this case seriously takes the cake. Frankly i'd never come back despite the good food. The verbally borderline violent service and argumentative behavior unfathomably made me livid. The whole time we remained as patient and kind as we could and understanding as we've all had experience in food service. It's a terrible job. Both servers argued with us, buying only the male raised his voice while we asked calm questions, and gave us threatening looks. If for any reason I come back and that guy is still there I'll have to report this guy to HR for extremely rude customer service and have both of them forcibly removed for discriminating against us, which it did feel like. Never in my life have i cussed in a review, AND NEVER in my life did i feel more unwelcomed. I wish they did something bad enough to sue but unfortunately it's legal to be an asshole. As for my 3 stars, the atmosphere was ok, it's a bit older looking building but there's nothing wrong with that and I actually like it alot but I just know it's not...
Read moreTL;DR: Rice portions are smaller than usual but the subpar quality and inconsistencies eclipse any highlights. Service is unaccommodating and for $40+ a person, I would not recommend coming here.
First impression: 730pm weekday dinner and it was very empty. Cramped restaurant and cramped parking lot but that shouldn't be a problem since nobody was here.
We did the AYCE and it was a hit and miss, with a lot of misses. Fish was incredibly inconsistent and so was the service.
Salmon: Maybe get? It started with a few trash pieces that were very fishy, lean, and had a bunch of skin on. I love salmon and had to get another batch just to see and it started to get a little better but some pieces still had skin on it lol. I saw a different table order literally 40+ pieces in a single order and they all looked perfect... very disappointed in our orders.
Paradise Roll: Skip It's loaded with spicy tuna and it's probably the most spicy, spicy tuna we've ever received... Only had 1 piece and we asked the server if there is any way we could just not eat the rest of this large 8 piece roll. They immediately declined which left the rest of dinner with a bad taste in our mouths--literally and figuratively.
Yellowtail: Get This was probably the most consistent thing and every piece had a really nice buttery finish to it.
Tea: Costs $4 I'd skip this if I knew it wasn't included
Service was friendly but unaccommodating when we got a roll that was so outlandish. Drinks and plates took awhile to be refilled and since it was so empty, they seemed bored and would just be busy gossiping about whoever. Quite unprofessional
Food: 5/10 Service: 4/10 Atmosphere:...
Read moreThey have a la carte or All-You-Can-Eat ($39/pp). We were leaning for a la carte but after adding up the prices of what we may order individually, ended up choosing the AYCE option.
The fish and seafood was very fresh. We liked that they gave very little rice with the sushi. There were five carpaccio choices (Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Albacore, Escolar). They all tasted great but we didn't like the presentation. Each serving (2 pieces) was stacked on top of each other (all 8 pieces) so they were hard to pick up. Also it's limited to 1 order per person during dinner.
We don't typically eat much rolls, but ordered three (spider, veggies, and lobster) which were okay. Hand rolls were good and wrapped tightly so it did not drop all over the place when you eat it.
Our main waitress very nice and attentive, but when she wasn't around, we had to waiver every other waiter over for service. Another negative was that when they ran out of something we had ordered, they didn't tell us it was not coming. After waiting a while, we asked them when it was coming and was told, they ran out for the day. It would be helpful to know so we can plan around how much to order for the next round.
NOTE: Came here starving after a day of running around on the beach for a water sport event. Was asked of we wanted inside or outside, I usually choose inside because I think most places forget about you if you sit outside. Inside had a few tiny flying bugs that looked like drain flies. There was an insect/bug zapper on the floor. I was apprehensive but we were all starving so we shooed the bugs away, which worked...
