So, up front, one thing to know about this place is that it's not really a dine-in experience. They have two or three tables in the establishment, and if you choose to eat in they will offer the most lovely and warm experience they can. However, you're not going to get much out of the ambiance if you catch my drift. My significant other and I stopped here on a whim, weary and starving after spending a day unpacking from our move. I will be going back, but probably for carryout next time.
What you will get here, in spades, is a great experience. The only two employees here are the older married couple who own and operate the restaurant, and they will gladly share their experience with you should you decide to listen.
That's not mentioning the food, which I will mention now is fantastic. We spent a reasonable amount on a selection of rolls and were impressed with what we got. The portions are okay for the price, but the quality is where it really stands out. We got 4 raw fish rolls (tuna, salmon, spicy salmon, and yellowfish) and one tempura shrimp roll. It took about 20 minutes from order to food-on-the-table and boy was it good.

Do yourself a favor and stop by the sit down once - you...

My wife got a poke bowl with tuna, rice, avocado, cucumber and cilantro. However, they left out the avocado most likely because she told them no avocado in the rolls. Learn how to listen maybe? It was a large bowl, so we could have shared (had I liked tuna, avocado, or cilantro), but now knowing the size of this portion lets us know that (if there is a next time) we could easily share the bowl.
Moral or the story: Go somewhere else for sushi. This place has...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI lived in Buffalo Grove for 23 years, and never knew about this restaurant until a few days ago. At first I was hesitant to try, but rolled the dice and decided to go with my cousins. As we walked in, the owner greeted us with a big smile, and seeing all the photos on the wall.. I knew the owner had a big heart for their customers, extremely family oriented. I ordered the Japanese Curry, and my cousins tried their sushi and gyoza. Also the sushi clock decor, I love it!
I normally don't write reviews, but they have THE BEST gyoza in Town. 10/10. The sushi did not disappoint, nor did the japanese curry. Prices were just right as well. If you are hesitant to try, take the leap. Its damn good. You got yourself a weekly...
