So, up front, one thing to know about this place is that it's not really a dine-in experience. They have two or three tables in the establishment, and if you choose to eat in they will offer the most lovely and warm experience they can. However, you're not going to get much out of the ambiance if you catch my drift. My significant other and I stopped here on a whim, weary and starving after spending a day unpacking from our move. I will be going back, but probably for carryout next time.

What you will get here, in spades, is a great experience. The only two employees here are the older married couple who own and operate the restaurant, and they will gladly share their experience with you should you decide to listen.

That's not mentioning the food, which I will mention now is fantastic. We spent a reasonable amount on a selection of rolls and were impressed with what we got. The portions are okay for the price, but the quality is where it really stands out. We got 4 raw fish rolls (tuna, salmon, spicy salmon, and yellowfish) and one tempura shrimp roll. It took about 20 minutes from order to food-on-the-table and boy was it good.

I've been to a lot of fancy places with all of the pomp-and-circumstance, drapery, decor, etc. and they served "good" sushi. The stuff here is easily among the best I've had in my life.

Do yourself a favor and stop by the sit down once - you...

We just ordered out for lunch. I got three shrimp rolls

  1. Spicy Shrimp - was not spicy and we think, not even shrimp. We had no idea what it was. However, what it was was inedible.
  2. Shrimp Tempura - if there was tempura, it was mashed and mixed with the mayo which made it look like it had been sitting in the fridge for a couple days. No crunch whatsoever and made it look like multiple day old guacamole (icky brownish color).
  3. Just plain shrimp roll which was very fresh with huge hunks of shrimp. I wish all my rolls were this way.

My wife got a poke bowl with tuna, rice, avocado, cucumber and cilantro. However, they left out the avocado most likely because she told them no avocado in the rolls. Learn how to listen maybe? It was a large bowl, so we could have shared (had I liked tuna, avocado, or cilantro), but now knowing the size of this portion lets us know that (if there is a next time) we could easily share the bowl.

Moral or the story: Go somewhere else for sushi. This place has...

I lived in Buffalo Grove for 23 years, and never knew about this restaurant until a few days ago. At first I was hesitant to try, but rolled the dice and decided to go with my cousins. As we walked in, the owner greeted us with a big smile, and seeing all the photos on the wall.. I knew the owner had a big heart for their customers, extremely family oriented. I ordered the Japanese Curry, and my cousins tried their sushi and gyoza. Also the sushi clock decor, I love it!

I normally don't write reviews, but they have THE BEST gyoza in Town. 10/10. The sushi did not disappoint, nor did the japanese curry. Prices were just right as well. If you are hesitant to try, take the leap. Its damn good. You got yourself a weekly...

We are renowned sushi / sashimi lovers. We had high hopes to try Masa's sushi as we've heard so much about it. So we ordered a la carte platter and boy were we disappointed by the substandard sushi / sashimi ever. The white tuna sashimi had rubbery texture. We've had the one that melts in your mouth at other sushi restaurants. The spider roll, spicy tuna crunch roll, salmon crunch roll was even less than mediocre. Our taste buds have been mourning since yesterday. Never going back there or recommending this place to anyone.

I usually eat sushi because I like it. And I think this store is the best sushi restaurant I've ever had in Chicago. It is not the interior of an authentic Japanese restaurant. However, it has a better taste than traditional Japanese restaurants. Tuna, in particular, is thawed while maintaining its softness and savoryness that is good to eat. If you go here and eat tuna sushi, you will experience tuna melting in your mouth. This is a secret restaurant that only people who really know know know.

#1 spot for Sushi!!! The fish was soo fresh, it melted in my mouth. Their salad dressing has an interesting hint to it. Definitely one of the best dressings I’ve ever tried. Although, this is more of a take out place, they do have 2-3 tables available for sitting. P.S thank you so much for your warm welcoming, and chocolate pandas. My bf and I had an amazing time! We will be back soon!!! Low bow and Compliments to Mr Masa for making this incredible food!!!!
