La Flor Bakery: A Taste of Grandma's Cooking from Puerto Rico in Buffalo, NY

Located in the heart of Buffalo, NY, La Flor Bakery is a culinary treasure that brings the comforting flavors of Puerto Rican grandmothers right to your plate. During my recent visit, I was transported back to my family's home in the center of the island by the incredible tastes and aromas that filled the bakery.

The star of the show at La Flor Bakery is undoubtedly their mouthwatering pernil asado, or roasted pork. The meat was tender, juicy, and bursting with a symphony of spices that reminded me of the traditional recipes passed down through generations. Paired with their fragrant arroz con habichuelas (rice and beans), every bite was a nostalgic journey to the dining table of my Puerto Rican relatives.

For those craving a hearty meal, La Flor Bakery also offers delicious bistec (steak) that is cooked to perfection. The flavors were bold and satisfying, making it a true delight for meat lovers looking for an authentic Puerto Rican dining experience.

No meal at La Flor Bakery would be complete without indulging in their heavenly desserts. The tres leches cake, a staple of Puerto Rican celebrations, was moist, creamy, and infused with just the right amount of sweetness. And let's not forget their irresistible quesitos, flaky pastries filled with creamy cheese that melted in my mouth with every bite.

Beyond the exceptional food, La Flor Bakery's ambiance exudes warmth and hospitality. The staff welcomed me with open arms, sharing stories and recommendations that made me feel like part of their extended family.

In essence, La Flor Bakery captures the essence of home-cooked Puerto Rican cuisine with its flavorful pernil, comforting arroz con habichuelas, bistec,& delectable tres leches, and irresistible quesitos. It's a culinary journey that transports you to the heart of Puerto Rico, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an authentic taste of the island's culinary heritage right here in...

TODAY I COMPLAINED ABOUT MY ORDER AND A MALE STAFF MEMBER CAME AND STARTED YELLING AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNG AS HE NOTICES I DIDNT INGAGE WITH HIS AGGRESSION HE WALKED AWAY WHILE OTHER STAFF LET HIM TALK TO HIS CUSTOMERS THAT WAY. NOW BECAUSE I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE FOOD, HE MADE WAIT FROM 9:50am-10:30am WHEN THEY SAID WHEN I WALKED IN HIS ALL TEADY WORKING ON IT I DONT THINK FRIED EGGS TAKE 30 MINUTES HE WAS VERY AGGRESSIVE, NO PROFESSIONALISM, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I DISBIT THE FACT YOU IN THERE AND THEY WILL JUST LOOK AT YOU AND SAY ANYTHING NOT EVEN SOMEONE WILL BE WITH YOU SHORTLY NO THEY JUST TALKING AMONGST THEMSELVES OR OTHER THINGS AND YOUR STANDING THERE FOR LIKE 10 MINUTES WITH THEM SAYING ANYTHING TO YOU . THE STAFF MEMBER SHOULDNT GET SO AGGRESSIVE WHEN A CUSTOMER WAS GIVING A COMPLAINT THAT IT WAS NOT THE CORRECT ORDER . I WILL NEVER PUT MY FOOT IN THAT PLACE OR A DIME !!! THE DISRESPECT WAS NOT NECESSARY AND ALL THAT AGGRESSION NEITHER!!! SEEMS LIKE STAFF NEEDS TRAINING FOR HOW TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS. AND I DONT THINK THEY RETURNED A PORTION OF MY MONEY BACK FROM FIXING THE FOOD BECAUSE I WAS TOLD OVER THE PHONE THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE TOTAL AMOUNT BUT I DIDNT EVEN CARE ANYMORE I JUST WANTED MY FOOD AND GO HOME . BERY...

My review is purely based on customer service and not the food! I’ve never ate here but the few times I’ve came to this business it’s been nothing short of disappointing in regards to the STAFF. My first time I went was years ago when my sister was dating someone who was part of this family owned business. The owner was there when we entered and all he could continue to comment on was how white I looked. I’m mixed race half p.r. And don’t speak Spanish fluently because of my upbringing but man talk about racist , the comments made me so uncomfortable I had to leave. Years later and the ONLY reason I came back was while I was doordashing I had orders here a few times and they definitely show favoritism , never acknowledged me , kept taking people who came in after me and the whole time the order I needed was ready and just sitting there. Instead of anyone helping me and just asking me what I needed they literally avoided me. Unless you fluently speak Spanish the workers seem to make anyone else feel less than. Not a place I hope to have to ever go back to and...

I go here for their QUESITOS, PARCHA & their sandwiches, preferably the PERNIL SANDWHICH. These are the most consistent items on their menu. The bread here is fresh and delicious. The pastries are all pretty good as well. This place is great for lunch. The inside of the bakery is small, however there are a few tables and chairs. Delivery is usually quick. Their prices are reasonable for the portion size. Stick to what they do best and you will be satisfied.

Customer service by the girl who waited on me was great . Food quality still alot better than Niagara Cafe right across the street but the to go containers are much to small for your side of rice beans extra and lil portion of meat minus salad cause they don't offer but quality still better at la floor not Niagara Cafe. I took the meat portion and spreaded it out I ordered postalieos beef and cheese made to more extra and beans red beans extra 😋
