I lived at the Turner Brother Lofts for two years and I have only nice things to say about the property and the management of the property. It is a beautiful old building that was nicely re-vitalized into spacious lofts. It is hard to find apartments in the city with washer/dryer in-unit, walk-in closets (big ones!), multiple storage closets, a fireplace, and HUGE bathroom. Did I mention the rooftop patio with a view of the city skyline and Lake Erie?? The amenities are unbeatable. There is also a gated parking lot which is very convenient given the city parking situation. There were car break-ins, but those happen no matter where you live and usually only affect those that leave items out in the open inside their cars. Over the course of our two years at the lofts, our cars were not touched and one of them was not in the gated lot. We had some issues with our heat one winter and the sealing of our windows, but property management responded quickly and appropriately. I appreciate that this developer seeks out areas of the city that have potential to re-develop abandon buildings. It is nice to see up and coming neighborhoods in the city like Niagara St./west side. The only down side to this location is the fact that it is up and coming. It is not super walkable and still requires some development around it. However, with time, I think the West Side will be the...
Read moreAs a stickler for details and quality products/services, you cannot really go wrong with the craftsmanship and service found at a Schneider Family location.
Turner Brothers was an empty nest/down size/more amenities move for my spouse and I and we could not be happier. The proximity to canal side, the theater district, the stadium, Allentown, etc. are all within walking/biking distance.
As non-natives of Buffalo, we found a tremendous amount to love in this area and it began with this apartment. The floor layout, material selection, GAS stove, closet space, IN-UNIT washer/dryers, and double vanity in the HUGE bathrooms are second to none.
The response rate from staff is 100%. Preventative maintenance issues are scheduled annually and any other concerns are addressed immediately.
Regarding the owner/staff, there are some developers out there that appear to own/operate 90% of the Buffalo market. Those developers do not have the integrity of the Schneider family. The high volume developers are only concerned with the profit margins.
The Schneider Family has made significant inroads into environmental sustainability while balancing beautifully rehabbed buildings with highly desired customer features in renaissance neighborhoods. The Schneider Family of properties truly should be the blueprint for all of the redevelopment...
Read moreI lived in the Turner Bros Lofts for two years. I enjoyed living there. The common areas are clean. I only rarely heard my neighbors from inside my apartment unit. The management quickly responded to my few emails and calls. The building's fitness area has a treadmill, an elliptical machine, dumbbells, and a weightlifting machine. My apartment unit was spacious, and it looked very nice. The building's location is convenient: a 30-second drive from the I-190, a 10-minute walk from City Hall, and a 15-minute walk from Allentown.
Any negative reviews of the Turner Bros Lofts probably focus on the car break-ins that occurred in the building's gated, off-street parking lot. I think these break-ins are an unavoidable part of living in a downtown urban area. The management held a meeting with tenants, elected officials, and police officers. There are security cameras. I'm not sure if anything else can be done.
Bicycles were stolen from the building's bike storage room, and management fixed the problem that probably led to the thefts: the exterior door to that room is now weighted, so it closes automatically.
I would happily live in the Turner Bros Lofts again in...
