My wife and I recently moved into The Sidway, and the experience has been fantastic from the start. Courtney, the property manager, was incredible—she provided all the details we needed, coordinated our move-in day to make things easier, and was super helpful throughout the entire transition. The first thing that hit me when we saw the loft was the natural light. That and the huge windows, tall ceilings, and exposed ductwork. The loft on move-in day was clean and ready to move in. The amenities here are great too—there’s a spacious gym, a bike room, and we’ve got plenty of private storage. The location? Perfect. We’re steps from Shea’s, a 30-minute walk to the arena and Canalside, and just ten minutes from Allentown or Chippewa. Plus, the neighborhood feels really safe, so we’re comfortable at any time of day or night. One more thing—maintenance is quick, super cool, and they do great work. And these lofts are basically soundproof—you don’t hear a peep from your awesome neighbors. Everyone I've met is great! Overall, between the awesome loft, ideal location, and responsive management, we’re thrilled we chose to live here. Definitely recommend!

I have recently relocated to Buffalo, and was looking for reasonably priced pet-friendly apartment community in a good location, with good gym. The Sidway provides all these.

It is a pet friendly community, 2 pets per apartment, and it has a very good gym that comes with your rental, while other places either do not have a gym or way more expensive. The apartment is also in a very nice yet quiet district. There is always a place to go eat or drink around. For dogs, there is a property across the street that you can use as a potty and the apartment's lobby always has treats provided by management. The appliances in the apartment are old relative to other apartments I have rented, yet functional, so can't complain.

Management is also good. So far I haven't had a problem. Jackson is kind and friendly. He was very prompt in responding my e-mails prior to my move-in. The maintenance guy Dean was also friendly and able to fix some of my small problems in the apartment.

Despite the good things, I have couple complaints, hence the 4 star. 1- The apartment was not very well cleaned prior to my move-in. Previous tenant was clearly cooking with very heavy spices and sauces, the pantries and the apartment had a very heavy curry smell, and the pantries were covered with oil and some sort of yellow spice (I believe turmeric), the stains even after cleaning many times I couldn't get rid of. 2- Another problem is the several of fellow tenants. I don't think some people over here know how to live in a community, in an apartment. They think they live in a single detached house. Some people are not able to control their dogs and corridors are sprayed with pee. Thank God there is regular cleaning. Some people leave their trash in the corridors for 2-3 days, which is also something I don't get why when there are many trash bins outside. Trash bins outside are another problem for several of tenants as they do not know they are supposed to separated their trash and put the trash inside the bin not around the bin. 3-Parking garage is a problem as I believe Jackson is still working on getting extra space for tenants so I have been waiting, but it's not a big deal so far as I haven't moved my car yet, and will be moving as soon as I have parking spot.

Overall this is a good apartment community in terms of management and amenities, and the quality you get for the rent you pay. However, some tenants need some education on...

I never rented from this property. However, I attempted to tour the property by contacting them through Apartments.com. I confirmed the date and time with Courtney to meet Michael upon arrival (emails were sent two days prior to the tour). The day prior to the tour I received another email with the same phone number, reiterating that I should text the phone number upon arrival. However, another email address was added to the email this time. After some emails back and forth, it was discovered that another prospective tenant who is interested in the property was looped in to tour the property at the same time, with me and Michael. I can understand booking back-to-back showings, but the disregard for anyone's privacy and the lack of offering care in a one-on-one setting gives a clear impression that the property is seeking anyone out to rent quickly. Not only does it give that impression, it's unnerving at how unapologetic the management was in allowing an email thread be sent involving two parties who are strangers to each other - to meet and tour the same property together, simultaneously. I felt that it was a clear invasion of privacy by sharing simple data such as my email address with a strange party, not to mention to group tours together in such an unprofessional manner. Needless to say, I cancelled my tour. What else would they be willing to do to save time and money and not protect tenant's private data, contact...

I've lived here for half a year now and I'm pleased with both management and the apartment itself. I am new to the north, so I'll have to report back how well I fare over Winter but I'm not feeling concerned!

My unit was renovated right before moving in, and the work done by the maintenance crew was very good! I have had a few small things to get fixed, hang curtains and etc., and the crew has been quick and very helpful getting things done.

There's an excellent gym on the ground floor that I use often, my only suggestion might be one more machine for core workouts but you really can't complain with what we already have included!

The building is located in a good spot for walking to various locations, groceries stores within 15 minutes, theater district is right here, bars if you are interested, coffee shops, pizza, all within reasonable distance.

The managers Courtney and Jackson have both been very friendly and very helpful during my time here. I very much appreciate the both of them.

Some extra thoughts for potential renters. In general I would say it's pretty quiet, but the walls are not thick and you can hear neighbors if they play loud music or make loud noises. I recommend investing in quality stand fans and candles as needed. Internet speeds are excellent (currently ~400down, 10up). Kitchen cabinets are pretty high up, so either be tall, get a ladder, or don't use some...
