If you're looking for a cozy spot that serves delicious, affordable Vietnamese cuisine, look no further than Dollar Pho in Buffalo! Our recent family outing there was nothing short of delightful, and I'm excited to share our experience.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The décor is casual yet charming, with vibrant colors and a friendly vibe that made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, chat, and enjoy a meal without feeling rushed.
Now, let’s talk about the food! As the name suggests, Dollar Pho specializes in pho, and it certainly lives up to the hype. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including their signature pho bowls. The broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—truly a comforting hug in a bowl! My kids loved customizing their bowls with fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime. It was a fun way to let them get involved in their meal, picking and choosing what they wanted.
Aside from the pho, we also tried the spring rolls, which were fresh and crunchy, paired with a delightful peanut sauce. And of course, we couldn’t resist the banh mi sandwiches! They were packed with flavor and generous portions, making them a hit with everyone at the table.
One of the highlights of our visit was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about our dining experience. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer our questions about the menu, making us feel valued and welcomed.
What’s more, Dollar Pho is incredibly budget-friendly! With most dishes around a dollar, it’s a fantastic option for families looking to enjoy a hearty meal without breaking the bank. We left feeling satisfied and happy, with plenty of leftovers for the next day!
In summary, if you’re in Buffalo and looking for a delightful dining experience that’s perfect for families, Dollar Pho is a must-visit. With its delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service, it’s a spot we can’t wait to return to....
Read moreFirst of all this whole thing was my girlfriends idea. She kept saying things like " I haven't had them in forever " and "it's sooooooool yummy " when I questioned it she replied " IT IS SOOOOOOO yummy ". Fair enough. Happy Spouse happy house. Know what I mean? I went ahead and let her take control of the situation and ordering, as strong feminist alpha males do. Equal rights, equal fights. Know what I mean? Having said that, we did door dash. Financially irresponsible, I know. Save it. We ordered the following: 1× 6a. Dumplings $8.00 Pork, Fried 1× 5. Fried Egg Rolls (Chả Giò) $8.50 Pork, Add Chili Oil 1× 2. Grilled Pork Appetizer (Banh Hoi Heo) $15.95 Add Fish Sauce, Add Hoisin Sauce 1× 64. Pad Thai with Chicken (Pho Xao Ga) $19.20 Hot, Beef IMPORTANT: I should disclose that I am making this review prior to ingesting the product. DISLOCURE: The food looked good as hell. Or as my female companion projected previously, " Yummy ". I'm sure it is. However, I have a problem. Upon viewing the menu, and examining the potential flavors. I found the essence to be quite pabulum in regards to the spring roll. Purely, the spring roll. She replied. " egg roll, the fried egg roll... I'll have to see " said my girlfriend as she stormed away to find evidence of some food related error I had made. I thought spring roll. She was dead set on egg roll, Even with the receipt evidence I still argued my point. The reality is she was right. We got spring rolls even though we ordered egg rolls. Which brings me to my only complaint. My misunderstanding of the differences between egg rolls and spring rolls is irrelevant. When I order food from a menu, digital or analog, if it says $8.00 and a picture of 6 whatever kind of roll, spring, egg, death, jelly I idgaf, I better get 6 "rolls" NOT 3!!! Shame on you. but also I love you because everything else was good. Quality over...
Read moreIt's really closer to a 3 than a 4, but I am giving it 4* because of 2 reasons.
4 of us went to check out Pho Dollar on Sunday at around 7pm, and food-wise we were all pleasantly surprised by the taste of the pho broth - 2 people immediately stated that it was the best they have had in Buffalo thus far!
The noodles in my soup were not thorougly cooked.. so I had to wait a couple of minutes before I could eat them. It was as if they put raw noodles in the bowl and then put the broth on top..they were quite too chewy for a while.. I didn't really like that..
I also ordered some soft stir fried noodles to go, and when I opened the box I was super happy to see that they were real, flat egg noodles and not the thick square kind I keep getting at asian places in the city. The beef in that dish was sliced so thin, and had no fat and was just the way I like it. Good ratio of veggies/noodles/beef but I found after a few bites it was WAY too salty ( I have a high salt tolerance as well). That also happened with the pho I was eating - MSG much?!
There's not much to say about the inside of the restaurant. Although I am not sure why the cash/waitress area is all the way at the top of the stairs at the back. When we came in no one was downstairs and she couldn't see us from back there....
