Blue's Jamaican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Buford

I’m genuinely shocked this place is still in business. I called at 5:56pm and 6:16pm today to confirm that they have oxtails before I begin a 40 minute journey to pick the food. I arrive and immediately informed that they ran out of oxtails. No worries. I decide to order jerk chicken, rice and peas, vegetables, plantains, 2 beef patties and a veggie patty. I pay for the food and was informed it would take 10 minutes. There were about 3 other people waiting for their food as well. After 10 minutes I go up to pick up my order only to be told that they actually don’t have the vegetable, peas and rice and that they can only give me white rice and extra plantain. I’m shocked because how did they ring up my order without checking if they have the food? Anyways I agree to the extra plantain. A few minutes later, the young man who was tending to my order brings my plate and there were two pieces of chicken, smothered in a reddish sauce and five dry pieces of plantain. I ask about the extra plantain and he tells me those were the last pieces of plantain. I was stunned. Needless to say, I hope this establishment gets better management because while the guy seemed apologetic, it does not make up for the terrible misscommunication.. the jerk chicken did not taste like authentic jerk chicken but I’m sure they can do better. I hope they do better. Highly disappointed. The drive back home was so awkward because I dragged my family to go get the food...

Oh my goodness... This Jamaican place in Buford is AMAZING. The food comes in a container and you get a plastic fork, but that doesn't matter when you are having some of the tastiest food!! The curry chicken was fall off the bone tender , and had an amazing flavor with just the right amount of spicy. The veggies that come with it were also tasty. A friendly portion of rice is part of the deal here , which is great because all the juices from the chicken are all over the rice, so you'll be finishing up every grain of rice. It also comes with plantains , but next time I'll order an extra side because I LOVE plantains but it only came with two little slices 😭 I also ordered this veggie pocket thing that looks like an empanada, and although it isn't very photogenic, the flavor was nothing short of delicious. When I go again (probably this weekend 😂 ) I'll order the jerk chicken and see how good that one is!!

If you're looking for Jamaican food... Scratch that. If you're looking for GOOD CHICKEN, stop by Blue's in Buford, sit down and relax while you enjoy their great flavors!! Better yet... Tell me when you go so I have another excuse to eat their food! 😅 @bluesjamaicanrestaurant_ga

Hot diggy dang! I honestly wasn't expecting these Jamaican Kings to be at the level of my own food...okay, ok...better than mine's!!! The oxtails were so tender and full of flavor, even though they were about to close the food was still fresh, even the rice! I wish that I had ordered more, but that's okay because I will be back! I didn't order the curry chicken I got the fried chicken and I was licking my fingers, however another customer did and Iit looked so good! I will be getting the curry chicken and curry shrimp next. I wish that I could keep them a secret but their food is toooooooo good, and I see why they sell out of items on the menu quickly!

Update!!!!! So, I can't give another new review so I'm adding to this one! I have been back several times, my picture should be up on their wall! I have tried 85% of these Kings menu and let's not forget the Queen who made them possible; and everything has been all good!!! Another, favorite of mine's is the fried chicken, my goodness I can slap my biological daughter's mama, if I wasn't her, 😆!
