TLDR: Came for a good gyro. Left heartbroken. They tack on an extra 5-8% for using “debit or credit cards due to “taxes at the end of the year.” Also, good luck on receiving an itemized list of whatever you purchase here. Just gotta “take his word for it.” I really tried to like this place. However, I just couldn’t shake the lack of transparency with pricing. Nor did I appreciate the runaround when I brought up his prices and how they were so high AND they didn’t even match up. Ok, I get it. It’s expensive to run a business. But dude, $6 for bachlava? $2.50 for a canned Diet Coke? Mind you, he’s adding this as I go grab the drink myself, I seen this and thought: “holy shit. He really just puts any number he wants in the register!” The plate itself was about $17.xx. (I put “XX” since I received no itemized receipt!) After taxes, I ended up paying $29.xx. As I was paying, I couldn’t help but notice there was a second payment processing system down below(his side can view only) and from upside down, I read $31.XX. If I’m not mistaken, that’s an increase of 5-8% just for using a card?? How do you justify that? Not only that, but it’s designed for you not to see. And when I mentioned that, he went on a wild tangent about how “he has to pay a lot of taxes at the end of the year.” And how this and that, blah blah blah. I think once I mentioned I traveled a lot and prefer New York style lamb gyro, he must have assumed I was made of money. He acted thrilled that I knew about bachlava. Again, a pivot away from his strange pricing system. Just a flat out conman vibe I got from this guy. In the end, the lamb was exquisitely delicious, there’s no need to lie there. Just a shame they take advantage of their customers, with markups like they do. In the end, I won’t be going back to this place. But see for yourself. And if they read this, please, do better! None of that “price as high as I feel I can get away with” nonsense. People like Itemized...
Read moreStopped by yesterday evening and got my cousin a chicken shawarma. He said it was great so we planned on heading back after watching a comedy show. The shawarmas we ordered the second time around weren't that great. We both noticed that with every bite the chicken was overcooked and very very hard to chew through. I decided to order another one to eat later and when the proprietors asked me how our meal was, I mentioned that it was okay, just that the chicken was too tough, and asked that the one they were making to go to not be overcooked. When I got home that night and eventually but in to the final chicken shawarma they had prepared, it wasn't any better. They must have not liked the feedback I had given them or just didn't care to do a better job. Hope they do a better job in the future, but I'll be sure to dine somewhere else when in need of some shawarma. Why make something if you're not going to...
Read moreFirst time trying this place. The food was a mix of good and okay.
Item 1: #1. Shawarma Wrap (Beef)
This item was drenched in their King Sauce. Every bite tasted like sauce and I couldn't even really taste the beef. This was the worst item, and I'm sure if they went light on the sauce it would have been much better.
Item 2: Buffalo Style Hot Wings (Hot Sauce)
Believe it or not, this was the actual winner for this order. The chicken wings were large, comes in 12 pieces, and the sauce was on point. The wings were cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and the sauce was just perfect with a good amount of heat. I would come back here for the chicken wings alone if they always taste like they did.
Overall, this place was okay for a...
