Excellent food and margaritas! The food here is fantastic, too!
New Review 2025.04 We had a great brunch one Sunday at Don Cuco's. We haven't been here in years. Great place for an intimate lunch or dinner. We decided to have a relaxing day at Don Cuco's after a round of golf.
Everyone that visits a Mexican restaurant knows it's all about the salsa. They have the most delicious and addicting salsa. I wanted to eat everything with it. It's super light and refreshing. I made sure we had tons of salsa so when our entrees came out, I can eat everything with it! LOL
We started with the Guacamole. Our entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. With my Shrimp Yucatan, I chose the Albondigas soup and with his Plato de Carnitas, he had a salad. The Albondigas soup was heavenly, just like my mother-in-law's! Just a savory meatball sitting in it's juices. It couldn't have gotten any better. Mainly meat and not much filler - you can tell by the texture. I love how lightly seasoned the meatball was.
The Shrimp Yucatan came with a side of beans, rice and garlic bread. The Plato de Carnitas came with a side of beans, rice and corn tortillas. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the shells came out of them effortlessly. They are perfectly drenched in butter and garlic. Delicious! The side of beans were my favorite. They were not refried beans! So happy for that! They were stewed to perfection and tasted great with the rice.
His Plato de Carnitas were moist, tender and juicy. He was in love with the Carnitas. The juices will seep into your tortillas making each bite rich and delicious.
We had the best server, Alfredo, and he was a lot of fun. He was such a pleasure to meet. We hope we see him again next time because he was a lot of fun and was so attentive. With that being said, he offered a couple of great Happy Hour drinks. I had the Patron Skinny Margarita and he had a Pink Cadillac Margarita. The vibe is so romantic so we made it a point to hit Don Cuco's for our special date nights! We really can't wait until we visit again. Next time we'll get the Queso Fundido. It is melted cheese, which typically has chorizo, mushrooms, or poblano peppers. It also takes about 15 minutes to make and is usually served in a sizzling hot plate. We made the mistake of not ordering and ordered the Guacamole instead. That will be our next...
Read moreI've been a loyal customer of Don Cuco Mexican Restaurant in Burbank for years, and it remains my go-to spot for authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. One of the best perks of dining in Downtown Burbank is the free parking, although finding a space can take a bit of time. I usually park in the nearby structure, which is convenient.
As soon as you step into Don Cuco, you're greeted by their festive decor and fun atmosphere. Fresh chips and salsa are promptly brought to your table, kicking off the meal on a high note. The menu at Don Cuco is extensive, offering a wide variety of Mexican specialties and traditional staples. Whether you're in the mood for a combination plate, a la carte items, or a full meal, there's something for everyone. Most dishes are priced under $20.00, making it an affordable option for any occasion. The ambiance is nice, with a touch of old Hollywood dim lighting that creates a cozy and intimate setting. It's a great spot for date nights, girls night out, family dinners, parties, or even takeout orders.
During my recent visit, we ordered a large guacamole dip, southwest chicken salad, chile relleno and taco plate, shrimp fajitas for one, steak encebollada, and chile verde. As well as margaritas and beers that hit the spot. The portions were generous, each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. Whether you're a long-time customer like me or a first-time visitor, you're sure to have a memorable dining experience....
Read moreI took my wife and her family here tonight to celebrate the new year. I first called to make sure they were open and if they take reservations. You can only make reservation 2 hours prior to your desired time so keep that in mind. There are different parking structure you can park in around the restrauant but I like to park at the Police Station that has public parking. When we arrived to the restrauant, I checked in with the host and she seated us in a booth next to the bar. I asked to change to a table because for 6 people, it wasn't comfortable. Our waiter came and give us the chips & salsa which I thought was great. The chips wasn't too hard and the flavor was fine, along with the delicious salsa. For our entrée, I got the Carne asada with fries and chilies relleno. They don't give a lot of carne, just 1 medium size piece and some rice. The carne asada was alright to me but wasn't my favorite out of all the restrauants. But the fries was my favorite part of my meal, it was well season and had good flavor. My wife got the Mole Enchiladas and her mom got the chesse Enchiladas. Her brother got the Fajitas and her dad got the Chile Colorado. Everyone loved their food and the customer service we received here was amazing. The waiters were attentive to our table and kept refilling our drinks. We did wait a while for the food to come out but it's because they wanted to bring out all the...
