The Girl & The Chicken — Restaurant in Burbank

With pool party season upon us, it’s time to tighten up the diet and look for healthier options when out and about and looking for a quick meal.

Located on Riverside Dr. near Toluca Lake/Burbank, in an area densely populated by coffee shops and smash burgers, The Girl & The Chicken is the new spot that we all desperately needed. A fusion of Mediterranean + Spanish, there is an explosion of flavors with every bite that will keep you coming back for more! My wife and I were greeted by Kenzie, who spent a lot of time explaining the menu to us and giving us her personal favorites; boy she was not wrong! My group and I ordered the seasoned adobo fries & sweet potatoes, carrots & beets as starters. For our mains we ordered the girl & the gaucho bowl, the gaucho wrap, and the chicken & labneh fire wrap. The chicken was moist and seasoned very well, everything was just so delicious! I’m spicy feen, so of course the chicken & labneh fire wrap was my favorite, but honestly, they were all SO GOOD! The provided sauces enhance the meals so well, my favorite was a tossup between the harissa labneh & garlic toum/calabrian chili, but slight edge to the toum/chili combo (pro tip, use these as a dipping sauce for the fries 😉).

Okay Girl and Chicken is my new favorite place! I walked by with my fiancé on our way to lunch in the lovely area of Toluca Lake and decided we had to stop by and take a look at the menu! We went in and the owner was super nice - he explained it was Mediterranean style food with Armenian spices. Color me intrigued! We got the Guacho and Mediterranean wrap to go along with a side of roasted sweet potatoes and beets. The staff even loaded us up on extra sauces!

Anyway, when we brought it home we were pleasantly surprised by how FRESH everything was. Most take-out food hurts my tummy but not this! Lots of flavor without the sacrifice of health. If you come by, definitely try out Mediterranean wrap or bowl - they came with these precious pearl peppers that are just so adorable and sweet! Prices also aren’t bad at all if you’re familiar with the Toluca Lake area.

Definitely stop by if you’re looking for something fresh and flavorful. 10/10 I will 100% be...

I got the chicken combo and wow… the chicken was juicy, seasoned just right, and the sides were super fresh. Their wraps are bomb too, I loved their chimichurri sauce, it definitely gave a kick to the wraps 🔥it was packed with flavor but not heavy, and the bowls are perfect if you want something light but filling.

Everything tastes homemade and fresh, and you can tell they care about quality. Plus, portions are generous so you definitely get your money’s worth. The staff was really sweet and quick, which makes the experience even better.
