Indian in Burien....finally!!!!!
My wife and I had heard great things about the food and finally had a chance to try it last night. One word sums it up for me...
Amazing!!!
The decor is clean and understated. The service was prompt, courteous, funny, and helpful. Now...onto the food...
To start us out, my wife wanted a wine. The gentleman recommended a white Indian wine. I can't comment to the wine directly, but my wife said it was amazing.
I'm a beer snob and prefer heavy, full-flavored beers but those beers don't mix well with hearty, spicy-filled dishes. The gentleman suggested I try an Indian Kingfisher. It was a light, lager/pilsner style that mixed well with our dishes.
We ordered an assorted appetizer dish. The dish was large, the samosas were large and amazing, and the rest of the dish was as equally good. Like many Indian restaurants, they brought out their chutneys to go with the food. Again, they were amazing. The mint was easily the most flavorful I have ever had. The other two were delicious...one was sweet (tamarind?) and the other had more of a roasted/smokey flavor with chunks of (carrot?). We could easily have eaten just the appetizers and gone home happy and full but we wanted to try more so...
We had a really hard time deciding on our main dishes so we ordered several...
Tikka Masala (chicken soup) - (4/5) - Originally I thought it was amazing but after comparing it to the rest of the dishes I had to downgrade my rating of this dish (still amazing but not by comparison)
Mango Curry (lamb) - (5/5) - Wow! Easily the best dish we had! It was sweet, spicy, spiced wonderfully, and the lamb was perfect.
Bharta - (5/5) - my wife said it was the best she has ever had. I tried and and thought it was amazing (and I cannot stand eggplant). Spicy, seasoned well.
Assorted Tandoori - (5/5) - All the meats on the dish were fantastic!
With our dishes we ordered a side of garlic naan, and I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record here but it was wonderful! It was light, puffy, flavorful and easily some of the best naan I've had in a long time!
I really cannot say anything bad or negative about the experience. From the location itself, to the service, to the food, great experience! We will be going back!
Finally...did I mention they have lunch buffet from...
Read moreI really wonder why this restaurant has so many good reviews or if its paid reviews. Worst frontdesk person, terrible snacks and ghostly ambience. I am never gonna set a foot in this so called “restaurant” and advise others not to waste there time or money by going there. So much bad experience that we left without ordering main course. We reached there at 3:30 and place was ghosted. I was wondering if its open or not. I could see people behind glassand no one came. I went outside and rang doorbell and still no one came. Finally i called phone number listed on Google and a guy came while giving looks as if we disturbed his free time. I told him we were waiting here for 10 mins and he started arguing about how many exact minutes we have been waiting… i mean seriously… I was with my family and kept my calm as everyone was hungry. He had very bad attitude and as if he distributing free food. After snacks, i told him we need 5 min before we order main course. He left without saying anything. He returned after 15 mins and Before we even order any main course, he rudely said everything will take at least 20 mins and left. That was enough and beyond my patience. I told him to get check for snacks as we cant deal with his attitude. If ownwr reading it… that guy name muhhmad as printed on snack receipt. Advise to owner: Get someone at frontdesk who know how to behave with customers. People can handle mediocre food or deserted ambiance but its not possible to tolerate rude and...
Read moreMy wife and I never had Indian food before so we chose this place to try some dishes. We had nothing to compare it to but we were blown away by how good, flavorful everything was. Our waiter Azad, added to our amazing experience, he was very friendly, made some great recommendations and was very attentive. At one point we needed some more napkins and before I could call him and tell him he was already heading our way with more napkins. We will be back to try more delicious dishes even if it’s a 20 minute drive for us. We were told the chef here has 18 years experience and it shows. We tried the tandoori chicken, tikka massala with goat (my favorite dish today although I never had goat before), we also had the butter massala with chicken, the garlic naan, paneer naan, and the naan with coconut, nuts and raisins. We also tried a yoghurt based mango drink which was good, not too sweet. And we shared an Indian homemade coconut and pistachio ice cream, sorry I don’t remember the name. I might have misspelled some of these dishes, as it’s from memory and never had them before. It’s a little pricey especially as there were only a few pieces of goat meat in the sauce and some of them had a lot of bone on them, but I’m not going to take a star for that. It all evens out with the great service, clean restaurant and delicious foods. If you’re looking for a good place to eat...
