I LOVE this place. I came in with my best friend for a girls night. She was a longtime Frankie’s devotee and was absolutely thrilled to see that the new owners kept on most of the previous staff.
The owners are also the Chef and dining room manager (a husband/wife team) who seem like they have every intention of keeping that wholesome family feel that Frankie’s had. Their adorably professional kids were playing hostess and server assistant, absolutely charming the heck out of everyone in the room. They have given the place a major facelift, the dining space feels brighter and more spacious, but they’ve managed to keep the welcoming comfortable feel that made Frankie’s so great.
Our waiter (a holdover from Frankie’s) was an absolute delight and gave us the perfect amount of space to enjoy our time together while ensuring our every need was met. The wine list looks promising, they had just received their liquor license that afternoon so the list wasn’t fully stocked yet, but we were assured that the delivery was just waiting on the okay from the liquor board so it will be ready for us next time we come in.
Now for the food. Oh my god the food. I will try to post pictures later, I can’t figure out how to do it from my phone. We had the caprese, veal meatballs, margarita pizza, burrata flatbread, pesto gnocchi and braised lamb shank. It was all absolutely amazing (hence two people ordering a weeks worth of food over the span of two hours 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️). It’s so hard to choose my favorite. In the moment I wouldn’t have been able to, but it’s been a few days and I can not stop thinking about the pizza or the lamb shank.
It has been literal decades since I’ve had a pizza crust with that much flavor, and it was cooked to the perfect crispness. It’s going to be a long time before I get pizza somewhere else. The lamb was divine, braised and seasoned perfectly. From the first bite to the last (it was the one plate we could not stop eating) it had us in that zone where nothing exists but the symphony of flavors dancing across your senses. I’ve got my fingers crossed that a version of this stays on their menu through...
Read moreI received 1 lobster stuffed ravioli in what was supposed to be a mushroom ravioli special. I understand the mistake of a different ravioli ending up on the plate and I knew exactly what had happened as soon as I bit into it because both were on the menu. However, my husband has a severe shellfish allergy and we both ordered this dish. If my husband were given this specific plate instead of me, he would have ended up in the hospital. My problem with all of this is mostly how the entire situation was handled. The manager came out and didn't say sorry, said oh it just jumped into the wrong plate, and didn't offer to comp my meal. Then, our waitress pretty much avoided us and when I told her the same thing, she didn't apologize, she just said she checked with the kitchen and the wrong ravioli ended up on the plate and also didn't offer to comp the plate or get me a new meal. The raviolis were clearly different colors and had different ridges, probably so you are able to tell them apart, so clearly no one did a basic quality check.
Besides this, we didn't get fresh water after we asked for a long time and we weren't attended for a long time after we got our food even though we needed a few things.
We will NOT be going back and are thankful that we aren't staying the night in...
Read moreMy sister and brother in law frequent this place and I have always wanted to try it. We came up for my sisters birthday weekend and met here for dinner...it was around 6:30 on a Friday night...parking can be a challenge but we parked in the overflow parking with Key bank. We walked it and I noticed that although it was tiny it had several tables and it was a happening place. We got seated with our party and right away received breadsticks & balsamic vinegar/olive oil with bread and breadsticks. I got a coke and my youngest wanted milk. Come to find out they were out but they ran across the street and got some...it was appreciated. We ordered the lasagna to share and sides of Cesar salads (which you could totally split as well). My daughter got the Fettuccine pasta with chicken and my other daughter got the kids cheese pizza. The food was amazing with great flavor. We were stuffed and didn’t have room for much dessert beyond tasting my sisters Creme Brûlée that was brought in during a round of “happy birthday”...it is spendy but it was a special occasion. The waiter was very attentive and had great customer service skills. Definitely recommend it when you are in the area and looking for some...
