This is a pretty cool store for older style electric trains. Some cool vintage like stuff in this store. The reason I only give it 3 stars is because of an interaction I had with an employee involving my son. Basically he accused me or my son of stealing the trains off the toddler train table they have in the store for kids to play with. Let me assure u I would never condone theft from my son from a store. But the reason my son threw a fit was because he wanted to stay and play, not because he wanted a train. He has hundreds of trains. When I explained this to the employee... he simply told me 3 or 4 more times my son couldn't take any trains (as if I didn't hear the first time) and told me other kids were stealing trains... and actually followed me out the store and onto the sidewalk and up 2 stores like I was a common criminal. My son had no trains in his hands when this employee approached me. Matter of fact I was holding my son who was flailing and kicking and screaming cause he wanted to stay and we were 3 feet away from the play table when this rude assuming employee approached us and let me tell u I have never felt so embarrassed the way he spoke to us and treated us, and never been so offended in my life. This rude employee didn't even apologize to us for accusing us of stealing trains but actually accused us more or insinuated more my son was going to take trains. How incredibly rude and assuming and offensive. I will never bring my son back to this store or even myself step foot in this store again. And the last thing I would ever do is offer them my money. If my son had trains in his hands and we were headed for the door id understand being approached. But my son throwing a fit because he wanted to stay in what he thought was the coolest place in the world.. with zero trains in his hands... being carried by me and heading for the door... is not a reason to accuse someone and embarrass them in front of other employees...

I've been buying there a little over 4 years now, and it's amazing how much rare, custom, and neat stuff comes through the doors. It's one of those stores where you have to keep coming in to see what's new. Because if you don't, it will be gone. Unlike another train store in the Puget Sound area, Electric Train Shop is unbelievably great priced for quality stuff. The staff is extremely nice to children of all ages, and people of all ages. Looking to get into the hobby? Spend your money's worth here. New stuff, he can pre-order, or order it for you. Used stuff, is reasonably priced for whatever the condition is. They accept repairs all the time, or even give you tips on how to fix it for yourself to save money.
I highly recommend going here to spend a few hundred on some stuff you wouldn't see at any other train store. It'll just...
