Came across this restaurant on yelp and decided to stop in for a business trip while traveling with my colleagues and was appalled at this atrocious experience. To start, as they say "first impressions are everything" & wow, upon arrival Lindsey the owner sat us and it took about 15 minutes to approach us, we noticed they were completely understaffed but decided to give it a chance. Our server (the owner) never gave us a smile or any ounce of friendliness while taking our order, in fact she was short abrasive and offensive with her facial gestures, not even allowing each person to finish their order before moving on to the next; nevertheless we ordered our food and awaited our drinks. 25 minutes later one of our items (tagliatelle with tomato sauce no sausage) was served, she didn't stop to ask if we wanted Parmesan or any accompaniment, only the rest of your food will be out in a few minutes.... 15 minutes later the rest of our food arrived while our pasta went cold and EVERYTHING was Completely awful and underwhelming. Our wood fired pizza was burnt on top and soggy on the bottle and it was all entirely overpriced. Having lived in Italy, I can definitely vouch and say this was a sad and painful attempt at "authentic Italian food". The only redeeming factor would normally be it's family owned and operated but considering the offensive service we received from the owner herself I am disgusted with the entire experience. Our bill was about $300 for our table we asked for one item, a soup to he returned and although untouched were still charged. Extremely upsetting. Enter at...
Read moreI have been here twice- once pre-covid & last night. Pre-covid was a fun night with friends in a "clam off"- who has the best steamer clams in Burien & my friends said it was Osteria. I thought it was Frankie's which is just down the street. Turns out both were excellent & different from the other. A win at both!
Last night I met a different friend. My friend had the veal manicotti & I had the risotto with prawns & pancetta. I was told the manicotti was very good. I certainly enjoyed my meal. I will say if I were going to try to recreate that dish at home, I would probably add the pancetta as a generous garnish (there was plenty in it) as I found the smokiness of it to become a little one note as I ate my meal. Don't get me wrong- the last bite was still a really good bite! I would just like to try it as a singular flavor in a bite. The prawns were perfectly cooked, tender & plump.
We looked at the dessert menu. If I had been with someone who wasn't watching their sugar intake, I would totally have ordered the Limoncello cake with Limoncello mascapone frosting. It sounds delightful & I do like lemon desserts.
Wait staff was attentive & totally receptive to letting us chat & coming over to take our order when we put our menus on the side of the table. I...
Read moreI decided to try this place based on the great reviews. This is in regards to their takeout since I'm a part of a COVID-cautious, disabled family with an infant at home. It might be a bit different if you dine in, but we are currently unable to do so.
I ordered a regular spaghetti and bread with balsamic and oil. I expected the spaghetti to be better than most I've had. If I'm being completely honest, I enjoyed the bread more than I did the spaghetti! Don't get me wrong. The spaghetti was okay, but definitely not the best I've had.I also think $15 for the spaghetti was a little bit overpriced. I'm sure the other things on the menu are better, but as I'm disabled, there are a lot of things on the menu that I can't have, which means I would have to ask for a lot of changes to each dish, and I don't like doing that sort of thing.
I also don't like writing this review, especially since the staff were super friendly, quick and polite, but I did not have the best takeout experience. I'm hoping to give it a second chance when we are...
