On this trip through Burley, I finally got the chance to try The 208 Grill. Last time I came through it was closed, so I was glad to stop this time. I ordered the 208 Burger. It comes with a beef patty, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo, and their 208 sauce on a potato bun. And yes, I had to ask for no pickles because who needs that kind of betrayal on a burger?
The burger was really good. The patty was thick, the veggies were fresh, the bun was soft with a hint of sweetness, and the 208 sauce added a flavor you would not normally expect on a burger but that worked perfectly with everything else.
The fries were good too. They were not greasy or overly salty, and they tasted like fresh-cut potatoes. Simple, fresh, and done right.
The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff I interacted with were friendly. It felt like a relaxed spot where you could enjoy a solid meal without any fuss.
Overall, this place was a hit for me, and I am definitely coming back to try something else on the menu.
Rating: 5 out of 5. Great burger, great fries,...
Read moreI have to say this is a way over rated restaurant. Flavor almost on point, but not perfect. It tastes like bottled sauce not fresh, but flavorful. …..Vegetables ok for me I like some crunchy veggies. ……The Biggest Disappointment was the amount of chicken we received. It was less that 8 ozs for 2 full teriyaki meals I weighted the chicken. Total meals cost under $30 …The rest was rice and vegetables not fully cooked and did not inspire my taste buds. I did not scream I have to come back. The food is bland and not inspired. …. Sauce was ok but not inspire. It tastes like it has corn sugar in it.. elevation of food is critical to progress. I have say it was a disappointment overall. I am very critical person because I have worked at the finest restaurants in the USA. I would never call Dinner Drive in and dinners for...
Read moreI had the combo order, half sandwich half soup. My Philly cheese was tasty and nicely done in a panini bread style. Rather crispy, a tiny bit too so for me as it tended to scratch the roof of my mouth, but I ate the whole thing. My ham and potato soup was also good, quite thick, not so soupy, noticeable chunks of ham.
Although we ate in, we were served out food as a to go. Soup in a cardboard container with a lid, and a sandwich also came in a small cardboard box similar to the type you used to get goldfish or chow mein in, little brown instead of white. We didn't get a plate so we ended up ripping the box at the corners to set our sandwich down as we were eating it. Food came out quickly and nicely done. Lots of people coming and taking takeout while we sat there. I'd go back and I think you'll enjoy...
