What a great experience I had at Orthopedic Specialists, Inc. with Dr. Shin. I’m a Firefighter with over thirty years of experience across the bay for Alameda County. I went too long with severe hip pain, thinking it was my knee. 2016 had a bucket handle tear of my meniscus. The surgeon said that I would need a knee replacement after he cleaned it up. Four, six, maybe eight years who knows? So, 11/24 I went on workers' compensation because I couldn't perform my duties without pain. Got an X-ray and the results came back severe arthritis and a cyst. Went to an Orthopedic in the East Bay. They gave me a referral for an appointment in two months (Crazy).They change the Dr. I wanted and gave me another one. I didn't feel comfortable with him and only does posterior replacement and I can probably schedule me March/April. Called my WC advisor and explained I wasn't comfortable with him. He got me an appointment with Dr. Shin. I met with Dr. Shin two weeks later in Burlingame. He explained my X-ray and what are my possible choices. Total hip replacement was what I needed.
