My family and I have not dined at China Inn in several years. We went there for lunch on Christmas day. Going out to a Chinese restaurant on Christmas day is a family tradition. Even though the places we have been going to have been carbon copies of a typical store-front restaurant, we went to different ones, hoping for something, well, different. We had grown tired of the lack of choices so, this year we searched for something new. We went to two highly recommended places in Graham but both of them were take-out only. These places also demanded that their customers be masked just to walk into the place. We searched online and discovered China Inn Buffet. What a great find! For years the buffets in other places have had dry, often cold food, and what was offered often ran out and the pans remained empty for long minutes. The service at those places was poor. This was not the case at China Inn. The wait staff were efficient and wonderfully cheerful. The lady at the cash register was delightful. The food was hot, fresh and amazingly delicious! The pans were constantly being kept full. Plus, there was plenty of food and choices of food. There were 3 large, double-sided hot-bars with great selections of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and choices of rice. There was also a bar just for other seafood goodies. One bar had salad, desserts and a great choice of soup. This brought back great memories of the truly good Chinese restaurants of the past. My family and I had the best time in years, at any type of restaurant. I highly recommend that you choose China Inn as the place to go the next time you want to eat out. Wear your masks if you want to, the staff wear theirs, but you are not going to be forced to wear them.
Returned today, July 15, 2022 My friend and I had a wonderful time and a very good meal. Fifteen dollars for a buffet such as this and a tall glass of fresh iced tea with endless refills is a very good price these days. The waitress was very nice and very efficient with removing used plates and keeping our glasses filled. This place keeps my original 5 stars and, if I could, I'd add two extra new stars for the experience being even better than the last time I was here. I seriously recommend folks to give...
Read moreI don't normally do this but it needs to be done... China Inn Buffet At 2310 Maple Ave, Burlington, NC 27215 you should be ashamed of yourself. My family will never step foot back in your restaurant and I hope that after people read this they will not either. Here is the back story, we went out to eat with my great grandmother when a homeless person who needed something to eat walked up to our car asking for money for food. I took them into China Inn and was paying for his food when they told him that he could not eat in there. Now this man did not stink. His hair was a little messy he had a beard and his clothes wasn't really dirty looking. He actually looked better than some of the people eating already in the restaurant. When the man at the front told me that he could not eat there my blood pressure shot up and I started questioning him and he said well he can get it to go. I said no he wants to eat here, I'm paying for him to eat here. The man still said No he has to go. With no reasoning. The man became embarrassed and was ready to leave because the owner was kicking him out and said it was ok and asked for me and him to just leave. So we did. China Inn I have so much more I wanted to say to you but I didn't want to embarrass him. But you are a disgrace to humanity. Shame on you.. After we left China Inn we went to the subway where he did get something to eat and drink and the ladies there...
Read moreThis place has average food, but a pretty limited selection. The reason for my two stars: -Servers grab your glass, for a refill, wearing the same pair of gloves they just cleaned a neighboring table with -perhaps it depends on the day, but I would see unsupervised children between 5-8years old who could barely see over the buffet counter serving themselves and dragging their arms over the countertop. Parents and/or staff need to fix that -the server literally hovered over me after she handed me back the paid tab. Which made determining her tip a bit unpleasant since she was standing directly over me -this place had virtually no A/C. It was easily over 80 degrees throughout the dinning area -lastly price, given the selection I think this place is steeply priced. At $15.50 per adult and $6.99 for kids 3-5 years, this place costs as much as any chain restaurant with zero ambiance to back it up. I live very close to this place so I had high hopes, but I will not...
