We visited Old Guy’s Tavern in Burlington on a Wednesday night and got there just before 8 p.m.—thankfully! We didn’t realize last call for food is at 8, so we made it in just in time to get our order in. It took about 30 minutes to get our food, but it seemed like a lot of people had put in last-minute orders, so that was understandable. We ordered wings (they were on special for $1 each, I believe), fries, and onion rings. The wings were excellent—plump, meaty, and cooked just right. We tried two flavors: medium buffalo and spicy BBQ. The spicy BBQ were grilled after being sauced, which gave them great flavor without being messy. I went with blue cheese on the side, which was okay—seemed like it might’ve come from a jar rather than house-made. The real standout? The onion rings. Perfectly crispy, the breading stayed on when you bit into them, and a generous portion for just $6. The fries, on the other hand, weren’t our favorite. They were shoestring style and a bit overcooked, though to be fair, that’s just not our preferred fry style. The space is small—only about 8 tables and a decent-sized bar (which was full when we arrived). It was pretty loud, which made conversation difficult. At one point, there was a table using a lot of profanity and had clearly been drinking for a while, but the server handled it well and moved them outside, which improved the atmosphere significantly. It was also a bit warm inside—not unbearable, but noticeably stuffy. Overall, we’d definitely go back, especially for the wings. It probably won’t be a frequent stop for us just because of the size and noise level, and we tend to prefer standard-height tables over high-tops. But if we lived nearby, it’d be a solid local hangout. Great wings, solid service, and unbeatable prices on special nights.

So we were disc golfing in the area and decided to grab dinner before heading back home to Ohio. This place did not disappoint!!!! In fact, we are planning to drive over an hour and a half just to return for their wings and pizza! The atmosphere was both warm and welcoming and the people made the experience all the more enjoyable! The “regulars” made us feel like family and became immediate friends. Jasmine and her mom (owner) had us laughing harder than we have in a long time and made sure our food was some of the best we’ve had! Definitely making the road trip -worth it to retire!

Stopped in for a beer after the disc golf tournament. The beer was good and cold, and the appetizer we ordered was good as well. The bartender was very friendly and welcoming, as were the group of regulars at the bar.

We had a group of hungry kids & adults following a ski day, stumbled into Old Guy's Tavern randomly & wow!!! Might have been the best part of our weekend trip to the tri-state area. We were immediately made to feel at home! We assumed we were just going to get cold beers, good atmosphere & bar food. We got cold beers, good atmosphere - BUT - the food was UNREAL! The burger was amazing, wings awesome, & the chicken tacos were fire :) :) :) A true hidden gem. If we lived closer our family would make this a regular weekly spot. Thanks...
